Caron Electric is preying on seniors, and everyone else, in Massachusetts by offering electrician services at four times what most electrician and then pushing high ticket services worth thousands of dollars.

I called these folks to fix a faulty switch that was causing a power outage in my house. The Caron electrician fixed the light fixiture for $339, but failed to fix the switch or find the cause of the outage. Instead, he said I needed to update my infrastructure (from fuses to circuits) which would cost more than $9,000. He also tried to sell me a $750 advanced troubleshooting plan and a $12.95 monthly preferred customer service plan.

Ian, the Caron electrician failed to tell me the problem could have been caused by NStar, the electrical service provider.

I called another electrician (Pigott Electrician in Arlington, Massachusetts) who told me to call NStar. This electrician told me that it should cost any more than $3,400 to update my entire infrastructure. He said no one needs to have a service plan.

Caron Electric gives seniors it is a local company, but obtaining local telephone number and placing full page ads in local telephone books. Once a Caron electrician comes to the house, you get hoodwinked into paying what's in their standard price book. You also get told about other services which you don't need. These are all suppose to be recommendations. Caron trains it electricians to around the customers' houses and to sell them extra services.

Caron has one of the finest fleets of trucks around. Wonder where they got all the money for those shiny new black trucks.

Caron also says it offers 100 percent satisfaction, which it doesn't honor. If you do use them, pay by check so you issue a stop payment if you are not satisfied.
