Cartwright's Chihuahuas UNHEALTHY puppy mill RIPOFF JOLIET Illinois
I purchased a male chihuahua from Kay Cartwright approx. on August 25th.
He appeared healthy and I paid $400 for him.
Within 2 weeks of having him, my male chihuahua began vomitting and having uncontrollable diarrhea. I took him to the vet to find out after several tests were done, he had tapeworm!
The vet said the only way he could get this is from an unsanitary environment at the breeder I got him from. He must hav eaten flea larvae and it all began! I phoned and emailed Kay Cartwright to inform her of the situation and my medical bill, only to get no response, no care, no sympathy whatsoever.
I wanted to warn people that this woman raises chihuahuas in a heavily smoky environment, where the puppies have to live outside of their trailer, in a fenced in yard. Some puppies had fleas, Kay told me, and mine did not. Clearly, mine had it worse.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WOMAN. The puppies are less than other places, but you get what you pay for, and we are now stuck with a dog that may have hereditary health issues!
FILTHY, DIRTY, TRAILER HOME infested with bugs and slop. BEWARE!

There are very strict laws with regard to how breeders need to keep their facility. Animal control would be very interested to know of these conditions.

Hi, I'm sorry your puppy got sick, but worms are very common in dogs and they need to be treated for fleas and worms their entire lives. If the puppies are raised outdoors, what does it matter if she smoked in the trailer? Also, if you could see the place was dirty and not suitable for raising dogs, why did you buy one? Now congenital defects are something else. What defects did your vet say your pup might have? Please keep us posted on your puppy.
