Caryn advertised her poodles as top quality, well socialized, and AKC registered. When they arrived, I was shocked to find puppies that were too frightened to come out of their kennel. They were undernourished, and parasitic, as indicated by protruding ribs, distended abdomens, and rough coats. The stench in their hair did not wash out with a bath. They had minimal muscle tone. Dew claws that should have been removed at 3 to 5 days, are still in tact. My major concern was, even after they got more active and started to move around, they did not walk correctly. Instead of being up on their feet, doing the prancy poodle walk, they came down on their leg and flopped their foot down flat, with toes splayed apart. You could hear them paddling along, with a plopping sound. They walked like they had flippers on. After checking their legs I found they did not have correct flexion in their joints. Their back legs are bowed, and appear to rotate inwards when they step. They are not the quality that they were represented to be. I immediately sent the breeder an e-mail stating that I would need to ship both puppies back to her. She stated that it is normal for 9 week old poodle puppies to walk this way, and that it was probably worse because they had been on the grate too long. Even though that was our determination upon seeing them, that was the first admittance that these puppies had been raised in a "puppy mill", or cages rather than in a normal healthy environ-ment. Even the pictures that she sent were posed to hide the problems with their legs. When I told her I would be shipping the puppies back to her, she refused to stand behind her guarantee, and take them back. The promised registration papers are typically shipped with the puppies. They have never been received.

All of my AKC registered Standard Poodles are 24 to 26 plus inches tall. None of them ever walk like a duck paddling around. From their first steps they stand up straight with their feet flat on the floor. We give them room to run and play, and never have to reabilitate them to get them to walk upright. The picture of the pup from Caryn was taken 4 days after its arrival. He had improved immensley by then.

Caryn I notice that you did not address the issues of:

Why you do not standing behind your guarantee?

Why you tried to change the terms of your guarantee in your above statement?

Why you did not do the basics, like taking off dewclaws?

Why the puppies are kept in cages rather than on a solid surface so they don't develop issues with their feet and legs?

Why in one weeks time the puppies gained over 5 pounds each, approximately 1/3 of their entire body weight? That was before I wormed and vaccinated them. That is not normal for well nourished 9 week old puppies.

Why if the value you placed on your puppies were true, you did not accepted them back and sell them to another party?

Why the supposed registration papers were not shipped with the puppies?

Why you could not even come up with pedigree information or registration numbers for the mom?

this is a baby and she has one finger under her chin and 2 fingers on her tail to get her to hold still!!!!I am NOT trying to mislead about anything! I am done with this. I raise standards that will mature very BIG at 26-28 inches not 20-23 inches there is a difference in how pups this size MATURE! I do NOT own a standard poodle that has any leg problems.EVERY one of them are straight as arrows,go look at my website,STRAIGHT legs. I attached 2 more pics of pups taken yesterday one is sibling to pups she is slandering me about and the other is 1/2 sib(same sire) NO HANDS on pups at all.I do NOT have to lie or cheat. This is ridiculous,a 9 week old puppy has to mature and standard pups that will continue to grow for 18 months and that will mature BIG and heavy are certainly going to go through growth changes. My adult standards were purchased from some of the leading, well known bloodlines out there.

Notice the posing of the puppy in the first picture. It is being held in position. The 2nd picture shows the same condition with the legs, even though it is a little more difficult to see in the grass. I will include a picture of one of my other pups at 8 weeks old that just flew across country. This was within a few hours of picking her up at the airport. She has not been bathed, groomed, or posed for this picture. She was excited and full of energy upon arrival, and very glad to see everyone. If you want straight legs on your dogs, they have to have straight legs as puppies.

This is what I expect from a puppy that is emotionally and physically healthy.

You will notice that Caryn has changed her guarantee from "I genetically guarantee for 1 yr. against any GENETIC problems", to she guarantees them against life threatening conditions.

This is the actual e-mail I sent Caryn within minutes of seeing these puppies. "I hate buying puppies without being able to see them. These guys are adorable, and very sweet, but they both have problems with their legs. They dont stand up straight. I will need to return them to you."

Buyer Beware! Pay Pal's buyer protection does not cover live animals. There was no case to win.

following pics are of her pups siblings that did not have a 15 hour flight and are shown here clean and healthy. The picture she posted has to be right after flight and what is on the puppy is shredded newspaper that was put in the crate for shipping.

This will be my only response to this complaint, what has been written here is simply not true and totally one-sided. This lady purchased two puppies that I shipped to her.The pups had to be crated during flight for 15 hours. She knew it was a long flight and the pups would not be "lively" poodle pups after a flight of this length as with any puppy or person for that matter 15 hours of travel time wears one out.The first email I received from her upon pups arrival was "the puppies are beautiful and already playing with my OTHER pups" in fairness she did express concern about the way pups were walking.

I tried to explain after such a long flight to just give them time to find their legs again(this email was about 4-6 hrs after pups arrived)and that for SANITARY reasons the pups were in a 48x48 grated whelping unit in my HOME for night time as well as when they could not be supervised in my HOME and that between the long flight and this, it was certainly possible they were "padding".She immediately wanted to return pups on a 15 hour return flight,I said no.I asked that she give them time to adjust, she immediately filed a paypal complaint and held up all monies paid for pups and shipping(10-12 days) I won the paypal complaint and my money was released.

To address her accusation of parasitic puppies, puppymill, not standing behind what I advertise: (1) the pups were vet checked the day prior to shipping (2)slightly distended abdomen these are her words not mine as neither pups abdomen was distended when it left me(3)terrible odor, after such a long flight, what would anyone expect a 9 week old puppy to smell like?Again, they were freshly bathed and trimmed the night before shipping.Pups do pee and poo (4) non receipt of akc papers.

Once the paypal complaint had been filed and monies "frozen" until I won and money was released I would NOT send akc papers on pups that I had not been paid for, would you?(5)puppymill accusation-that's is by far the most slanderous thing that has been said ,she is in Oregon,I am in Mississippi, throwing that out is for shock value and a very dirty way to get a reaction. In closing, what she failed to say is I had also shipped another puppy(sibling to the 2 she purchsed) to a very nice couple in Oregon as well on the same date I shipped hers.

That puppy has been vet checked and I received glowing report on him,his loving personality (as well as pics in his new home) I am not sure what was expected here but I do know I have been raising poodles for 17 years and my pups are home raised with my children(of course they are penned up at night or when not supervised, who wouldn't) I de-worm at 2,3 weeks w/strongid,4,6,8 w/panacur,every puppy has a 7 day series of Albon @ 6 weeks of age, every puppy has first puppy booster @ 6 weeks and again @ 9 weeks(12 and 16 weeks if they are still here) I feed a premium puppy food(Eukanuba)This is the first person to ever say anything about a shy or dirty puppy that was placed by me.

I love my poodles and I certainly take care of  them(why have them otherwise) I have never ONCE received a phone call from this lady ,she sent a couple of emails and then straight to a paypal complaint and freezing money. My genetic health guarantee is against life threatning genetic issues and I have always and will always honor this guarantee.I however do NOT take kindly to assumptions, threats, and slander. At the end of the day,it will have to be up to each person to decide what they believe is the truth. Please feel free to visit my website(and pups are not "posed"..lol how do you pose a 6-9 week old pup that is a bundle of hyper energy?) Thank you for taking the time to read "my side of the story" Caryn
