Minor correction to my previous post. In error, I posted the total for a prior repair you had here to another unit (KVF360 ATV) back in 2004. The correct Invoice # 999996831 for your Mule repair was actually: Parts $466.07 Labor $282.00 Total including tax = $822.72 Again, this was at our cost and nowhere near the $1200.00 you claim. Chip, if you wish to discuss this any further you have my phone number. Thanks.

After re-reading your post, and reviewing your Repair Order, I found a couple other things in your post that were also inaccurate. Your total that you were charged for this job was not $1200.00 it was $974.96 ($768.41 parts at cost, and $119.00 for labor + your tax). Again, $119.00 for labor on an 8 hour engine rebuild job was and parts at our cost...we tried to help you out and this is the appreciation we get...? Also, you are the second owner of this unit. This unit was purchased from us at an "out the door" price of $8800 on 11/2/2007 by Adam. If you paid this price to the original owner (Adam) in the condition this Mule was in a full year later, you might want to look in another direction to file your next Ripoff Report.

Chip, Sorry to see you went to these resorts after we have taken good care of you and your Kawasaki Mule. You leave quite a few facts out of your story that I will now share. First, you purchased this Mule used from one of your friends (Adam). Your claim that you did not submerge this unit in water may be true, but this unit HAS been under water...and for a while I would add (either by you or Adam it was submerged). I took pictures with your Mule which I showed to both you and Adam when you came into the dealership after being informed what the problem was. The pictures clearly show the airbox and air filter completely impacted with mud and water from where it had been sunk, and the pictures also show all the pond scum clogging up the radiator, and all over the engine, engine bay and bottom of the seat. The picture of the filter and airbox alone are enough proof if was under water with a solid ring of mud and water that ended 3/4 of the way to the top of the inside of the box. This unit is designed to be drove through shallow puddles and shallow bodies of water. It is not designed to be taken into water that is above the seat or air intake (which you did). Any motor ingesting water and mud will fail. Second, your drive line had so much water in it that the oil in the case was a milky mix and pressurized. We did our best to clean all of that out and flushed it several times. At the time you left the dealership with the new engine repair on 7/3/2008 there was nothing wrong with the final drive unit that we could determine. And considering you complained so much about the initial repair, even if we did suggest going into that to check it out, you would have denied it. Now back to the initial engine repair that was done due to a sunk unit. Kawasaki will not cover under warranty (nor will any other manufacturer) repairs that are a direct result of abuse or neglect. Everything in the case of your Mule was documented by photographs (which I still have). I guess where I am at the biggest loss here is why you would even begin to make a post like this when you know good and well how this Mule was treated. Additionally, you fail to mention that we as a dealership tried to help ease your pain of the repair by doing it at cost. Actually, I will rephrase that as we actually lost money trying to help you out, because my technician could have been spending that 8 hours for your engine R&R on something else that would have made us money. You were charged at my cost on parts and labor. So you see, it was not like we benefited monetarily by doing this job. The idea was to salvage a customer, which clearly did not work even after all our talks and efforts to try and make you happy and make you understand why this happened. I like to think we can work with most people, even unhappy people and find middle ground with a solutiuon to the problem. We are not in business however to pay for customers mistakes and abuse to equipment. We did all we can in your case and went above and beyond the call.
