I contacted Castle Rock Security a year ago to cancel my service, but was not notified that the contract automatically renews.  I was directed to contact Castle Rock to cancel my service after the 3 year contract was complete.  My contract was due to end this month and I contracted Castle Rock to notify them that I would be discontinuing my service with them.  However, it was less than 30 days until the end of my contract and so they have automatically renewed my contract and I am now obligated to pay throught 7/26/2011.  Today's date is 7/8/2010.  The cost of another year with Castle Rock is $539.88.  I asked why I didn't receive a written notice of the automatic renewal that would have allowed me to cancel my service in compliance with their policies, however this is not part of thier business practice.  They do not have any kind of early termination policy, their policy is that you need to provide written documentation at least 30 days prior to the end of the contract and pay the remainder of the contract in it's entirity.  I have filed a complaint with the BBB.  I also asked to talk to a supervisor regarding practices that I feel are fraudulent.  "Phil" with Castle Rock refused to let me talk with a supervisor and needless to say I am irrate.  I don't understand why any company would purposely put policies into effect that anger so many customers and discourage future customers from using their services.
