I got involved with this company in July 2008. The company promised to clean up my credit while they offered me a computer (Dell) and as incentive, a Wii game AND an mp3 player free. I was to send $99.00 as down payment and every Friday they took $29.99. After I made the 5th payment, they were to send me the Dell computer. Of course that never happened.
I waited until September to call them and all this time they debited my account $29.99. I called, waited 45 minutes to finally talk to a rep. I was told I had a delivery date of the week of Oct 20. Of course it never came.
I called again and waited 45 min and the rep told me Dell fell behind on their production and my delivery date was moved to Jan 2009. I called several times and was told they don't ship computers in Dec because of the threat of theft in transit.
I have now paid them $938. plus, and last week I received a letter telling me to sign the new contract for layaway. I don't know where to turn. I read other complaints with this company and now realize I have been scammed. The funny part of this whole mess is that my credit doesn't need to be cleaned up. My credit is good. It was just a way to receive a computer without doling out a chunk of money at once. Can you help me?

I URGE you to contact the following: Consumer Protection in Fairfax, VA - 703-222-8435 Also contact your local FBI and your local Attorney General's office and your local Law Enforcement office, also, the local Attorney General's office in VA, FBI in VA and their local law enforement agency I contacted the consumer affairs in Fairfax, VA 703-222-8435 as well and have received a letter back from them showing they did send a letter to Tim Houston advising him I filed a complaint with them a copy was also sent to the Federal Trade Commission. He has 10 days from the date of the receipt of the letter to respond in writing to them regarding my complaint with them. I did finally receive the computer on Friday January 24, 2009 over 2 months after I paid it off. We were supposed to get a DELL Computer, it is a Hewlett Packard. They upgraded the ram to 3 gigs but it is crappy ram some asian made brand not worth spit. The hard drive was upgraded to a 250 gig from a 80. The AMD processor is not as good as the Intel one that was supposed to come in the DELL. Microsoft Works was not in the package and I have yet to receive the Nintendo Wii or the MP3 player or the 19 Item Software Suite that was also part of the agreement. I contacted them today and they tried to tell my I am getting a GPS, needless to say I am very steamed. They advised I could return the computer for a DELL. At this rate my son wants to keep it as it took so long to get it. Like you I was not worried about my credit I just wanted time to pay this off and not shell out around $ 1500.00 at once to build him a computer. I build all my own but I build high end gaming systems and they cost a lot of money to build. I wanted to get my 13 yr old one for his birthday/christmas present combined and take the time to pay it off. When they wanted all kinds of personal information from me to ship the computer I just paid it off quickly instead. Contact the above regarding your situation. The more they hear about this company maybe something will be done and people will no longer be scammed by them.
