Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was contacted regarding advertising in a spring community magazine.  I stated I was not interested as my advertising stayed local and did not want to do any more advertising at the time.  The salesperson was very persistant, and continued trying to sell me a spot in the magazine.  After several minutes I had told her I was not interested and hung up.

The next day I had a fax of a proof arrive, the business name was not even spelled correctly, and the description was not even close to the scope of work and services we provide, so I shredded it because I did not want to advertise with them.  Several weeks later, I started getting invoices from them.

I called to clear up the issue with the invoices, and told them that I did not sign and fax back the proof to give authorization to run the ad, and if they wanted me to pay the invoice, they would have to provide me a copy of the authorization with my signature on it.  If so, I would happily pay the invoice, but they could not.

I was told by their accounts receivable department that they did not operate that way.  If you get a faxed proof, that you would have to sign it and return it to them if you DO NOT want to run the ad, not if you run the ad.

In all my years of advertising, you always get the proof, make any changes or corrections, then once you are pleased with it, it is signed as authorized and faxed back to run the ad, never the opposite way.

Doing it the way they claim to do it, they could fax out proofs to random businesses and individuals and claim they have outstanding invoices to try and collect on.

Very shady company.  They will not collect a penny from me until they do it right and provide a signed authorization form with my signature on it to prove I authorized the ad to be run.
