I signed up with Centennial nearly 2 years ago. Immediately, there were problems. The first bill was for almost $300, when I had signed up for a $30/month plan. I went to the local office and waited for 30 minutes to see a rep. I was told that all the calls I placed were included in the plan, but not incoming. I told the rep that I was unaware of this. He had told me that all the calls within the shaded-in region on the map he showed me would be included. He apologized and tried to refund my money by calling his "superiors" on the phone. They refused even though he stated right in front of me to the superior that he probably had not told me this. The superior told him to lie and say he had said it for sure, but the rep said, "I can't. She's sitting right here." So, the superior then said that it was on the billing agreement. I got a copy of that, and nowhere on that agreement did it say that incoming calls weren't included. The rep agreed, but said he could do nothing further. I had him change my plan so I could get free incoming calls.

I decided it wasn't worth the battle, went home and paid the bill.

The next month, the bill was near the same amount. I refused to wait another 30 minutes for a local rep, so I called the 800 number. Customer service was resistant to help me from the very start. Immediately, they started making excuses, like "you went over your minutes, ma'am." When they finally understood that I had changed my plan the previous month, they tried to help, telling me that somewhere along the line, the request hadn't been processed correctly. Okay, I could deal with that. They refunded most of the money, but somehow couldn't get it down to the plan amount. I folded, wanting it off my chest, and paid the rest.

The same thing happened for the next 4 months, and each time, I had to call the 800 number and spend over an hour on the phone explaining why it wasn't my fault... that my plan was supposed to have been changed months ago, and when they finally stopped making excuses and started looking into my account, they found that, yes indeed, there had been a request, but it had not been processed correctly. Every month, I paid more than I was supposed to.

FINALLY, the 7th month after signing up, I received a normal bill. Since then, I have gritted my teeth and paid money to a company that doesn't deserve it... because I'm locked into a 2-year contract, and despite all the problems they caused me, they absolutely refuse to let me out.

My husband and I were in this store when we were shopping for cell phone service. There were 3 people that we could see working there. After waiting for 20 min. to talk to someone, the employee that was finally free had a friend walk in. We waited another 10 min. while they made plans for that evening when my husband spoke up and asked if we could get someone to answer our questions. His exact words were "Hold on, Dude, "so and so" will be with you in a minute". Without another word we walked out. I have told this story to numerous people in the area and have heard several repsonses like the original poster's. I have a friend that went 45 mi. away to Ft. Wayne so she didn't have to deal with this store for customer service. I consider it a blessing we didn't sign with them.
