Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
A credit card account with Washington Mutual was referred to Central Credit Services. This account is in my wife's name alone, who just recently, due to serious medical problems, was ruled to be totally and permanently disabled by Social Security.

Wash Mutual was advised of this, and was told that a settlement of the account would be made within 60 days. Instead of waiting, they referred the account to Centeral Credit Services. These people began calling MY cell phone and demanding payment.

Despite explaining to them that my wife is disabled, has no income, and had just recently also been the victim of critical injuries in a car accident, they persisted. Tucker Peoples and Bobby Williams in particular continued to call my cell phone irregardless of my demands that they cease to do so.

Bobby Williams continued to ask if my wife and I were still married, separated, or divorced. I informed him that such was not an issue, since I was not a legally obligated debtor on the account. He, of course, tried the "guilt trip" method of saying "don't you want to help your wife with this"...."don't you care enough about your marriage to make sure she doesn't suffer from your stupidity" ? It was all I could do not to laugh out loud.

I took control over the call for a brief time, and suggested that he call my attorney who represents BOTH of us for any matters that might arise. His response was to talk over me continually, not giving me much of a chance to say anything. I, on the other hand, continued to talk over him, and advised him that I can talk over him just as well as he can talk over me.

I asked him if his company OWNED the account. Williams avoided the question with questions of his own. I told him when I get an answer to my question, he'll get one from me. Finally, he said "no, we don't own the account", but when I then said, in that case, you have no legal standing to sue, so you need to send the account back to the original creditor, he suddenly said, "yes, we do own the account". At that point, I said, "fine, then....have your attorney contact my attorney".....he quickly got angry and HE actually hung up on ME, instead of what they are usually accustomed to.

Here's the deal - they do NOT own the accounts they are collecting. They are commissioned agents for the original creditor. They do NOT have the authority to sue on the account - that has to be done by the original creditor. They do NOT have the means by which to take property, put you in jail (it's not legal to jail anyone over a debt), or to take Court action against you.

They are nothing more than playground bullies who probably got beat up a lot when they were young, and this is their way of getting back at those who physically, emotionally, or sexually abused them when they were children.

Hang up on them, call your original creditor, and report their tactics to them.
