Saturday July 19 I drive to Central Florida Toyota to see a 2012 used Scion IQ advertised on internet. But not begfore calling first and talking to Michelle, who acknowledges the vehicle is there and marked down at $11 thousand. Once we go through a hell of traffic, we are greeted by Oliver. He says that car is not there. Upon my disappointment and explanation he goes and speaks to her. Returns saying the car is there. JUST to let me SEE the car they want my drivers license.
Then the sales manager, Mr. Robinson , says he has NO knowledge of a mark down and Oliver tells him the price marked inside is 13,995. I told him again that the car is advertised on www.cars.com. He says he will honor the ad, but he needs to see it. As I am NOT allowed to use his computer, but my phone does provide but limited display of info, I drive back home another hour.
I send Mr. Robinson an e-mail with advertisement attachments. He never calls me. I call him next day but he says he didn't get the e-mails. While on the phone with him (his listening to me), I request my assistant to fax the ads. He then says he found the e mails but attachments cannot be read clearly. While on hold he receives the fax, then gets back in the line telling me I should drive to negotiate the price.
I stood very firmly and told him that there was NO reason to negotiate. "You said you would honor the ad and that your prices include dealership fees. I cannot waste time like this, are you honoring the ad or not?'
He just replied he will call me in a little while, but at that I should go back to dealership for negotiation." I clearly said again "There is NO negotiation, just call me back whe I can go pick up the car. No more calls ever received!
