My problem is that Chapman BMW sold us Certified BMW Used car that had a trashed front end. This was during the previous owners care in which it looks as if the previous owner scraped the bottom of the front bumper on several curbs. Admittedly Chapman admitted there was repairs done to the front bumper before we purchased it due to a fog light missing. It is then that we suspect the badly damaged bumper was rigged to hold together for the previous owner.

That may have been fine for the previous owner who did that damage themselves.

In we come to Chapman and purchase this 530i which is BMW Certified and claimed to have been through an inspection for things such as RIGGED front bumpers that are missing parts and have non-BMW Certified bolts and pieces holding it together. This was not the case however. Of course we didn't recognize there was a problem or that the bottom of our car looked in such terrible condition until the parts that were RIGGED started to deteriorate and leave our front end plastics and splash guards falling off on the freeway.

Now that the car has been on a lift we can spot this shady stuff and a Rep at Chapman named Carlo even said that they would recommend this be replaced if it was a Certified car going to the lot - but they didn't. He proceeded to tell me that the bumper was very expensive and it looks like someone tried to do us a favor and RIG it for us but no one has ever touched this car besides Chapman since we have owned it. To me his response sounded like Chapman wanted to save themselves this quoted $1700 bumper expense and pass the headache along to the consumer.

Now that these shotty repairs are finally falling apart - the consumer, BMW customer is left holding the bill and a very dissatisfying experience. On top of this we complained for two weeks before giving up when we bought the car that it didn't come with floor mats, a $40k car and you don't even get floor mats?

that they did, but nothing could be further from the truth! So, how do you know if they did Certify it; simply ask for a COPY of the WORK ORDER for that Certified Vehicle that went through the shop. And guess what? Even IF they show you a WORK ORDER, it does not guarantee that the work was really done! Some Dealers have, and keep, TWO SETS OF BOOKS! The Auto Industry is FILLED with some of the most CORRUPT people in the USA! There are people living in the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM because they spoke out against this corruption. It is all about the MONEY! The coming Recession in the USA will help to clean out a lot of these corrupt people. And maybe someday, consumers will be able to get true and accurate figures at places like; Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, Home Depot, etc. The Chinese Auto Makers should come here and do just that! It would be unlike ANYONE could ever imagine! Ford & Chrysler would be BANKRUPT within two years of this being put into place by the Chinese Auto Manufacturers! Who knows, maybe they are already thinking about it!! Stay informed of things at the Toyota page of this site. Good luck to all of the innocent and honest Americans that have the GUTS to speak out! We do have the RIGHT! We just need to take ACTION. Definition: KARMA- something done. action, work, behavior. also the consequences of action, both spiritually and mentally, as well as physically. These dealers sell vehicles "certified" by whom? Bought a used 96 bronco that was "certified" by north park lincoln/mercury, with their 150 point check that didn't amount to crap. After driving it a couple of weeks, I noticed that every time I applied the brakes, the right front end would "dip" in that direction. Got down there and found a little $5 auto zone shock absorber on that side. The other side had a much larger, factory shock. I went back and asked them, "What happened to your 150 point check"? "Was there anything the could do to help me, towards the purchase of a new shock"? Their reply was "You bought a used vehicle, too bad, too sad". Now a shock isn't gonna make me or break me. I was more interested in what they might do and about their so called "certified" inspection that should have caught the shock to begin with. After their attitude about the shock, so be it. I would have purchase probably over at least $50,000 in vehicles from them IF they hadn't d**k me over a $20 shock. To this day they still send me flyers trying to get me to buy vehicles from them. Anyway, I see that alot. These dealers sell "certified" vehicle that they, themselves certify. I always wonder IF the kid in makeready, who washes them, is the one who checks off the list and certifies the vehicle. What people don't understand is the BIG difference between a vehicle that is "certified" by the manufacturer and one the dealer himself does. It sounds like the OP bought a vehicle that was "certified" by the dealer and let slide the front end damage. These certified vehicle don't mean d**k.

send a copy of your ripoffreport to all News Stations in your city. Who knows, maybe they'll put you on T.V. like they did for me. You can go to 9news.com and type in the name ORNELAS and search the story that made the Front Page of the Denver Post and the 10 O'Clock News on the #1 Most watched News Station in Denver, 9News! A simple LETTER did all that!! Go over to the Toyota page and stay abreast of all the problems too! Toyota has admitted to a SLUDGE PROBLEM in MILLIONS of engines but they are making it almost impossible for consumers to be reimbursed for these DEFECTIVE ENGINES! SLUDGEFEST 2008 is coming to Denver, and it will expose Toyota and Ford. Remember what a Harvard Business Professor said, quote: 'Exposure is a corporation's worst fear.' Expose the problem and HUMILIATE anyone who tries to cover it up!! Good Luck to you and I hope you EXPOSE your problem and get compensated appropriately!! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!
