I was recently hired to perform virtual assistant services for Charles Petty and his Visionary Publishing company. He hired me in Feb. and I have not received a dime in the form of the compensation that he owes me for my services. Collectively, he owes other VA's over $10,000 in wages. He writes bad checks and one VA was nearly arrested at her bank for depositing his checks.

Mr. Petty claims to be able to show people how to make money in real estate by charging them for a product (mentioned in another complaint from person who purchased product) that they never receive. I have spoken to several people who agree that Mr. Petty is crooked and needs to be stopped because they too have been a victim of Mr. Petty and his unfair business practices.

I am pursing a legal case against Mr. Petty and wanted to make sure that other VA's and consumers do not get tangled up in Mr. Petty's lack of morals.

Not Receiving Interest Payments

I dont like to badmouth anyone, however, I am a customer of Mr. Petty and I want to add to the complaints that have already been posted all over the web. I am still awaiting the interest payment for the private loan that I gave Mr. Petty last year. My forth payment was due in April, it is now the 27th of May. I cannot contact Charles Petty or his virtual assistant. Charles's email no longer works, and the virtual assistant;s number is disconnected. Every payment period I have to may several calls and send numerous emails to get my payments. The payments are routinely a month or more late. I once got an email saying that I should receive a check in the mail within a week. That was over a month ago.

We stand by the intial response. But will not be caught up in a back and forth over items mentioned by disgruntled former employees, contractors, etc. These claims are untrue. We did go through a change in our customer service structure and our accounting department which led to some accouting mistakes but the claims that are being made by this individual are untrue. We do everything in our power to treat all our contractors and customers with the utmost respect. We are not perfect but these claims are untrue.

I am another former employee of the esteemed Mr. Petty and Co., but I fortunately figured out that the gig was absolute bunk and walked away before I got screwed like other employees and customers have been screwed. A "change in customer service" is no excuse for bouncing paychecks, not delivering products clients have paid for, avoiding attempts to contact you from ex-employees you have wronged, customers you have wronged, and even law enforcement. If Mr. Petty and his esteemed colleagues really "do everything in our power to treat all our contractors and customers with the utmost respect," one would certainly imagine that the very basic building blocks of "utmost respect" would be to make good on your debts, deliver what you've promised your customers, and not avoid contact, no? But I am a charitable person, so I shall allow for the possibility that perhaps we have different ideas about what constitutes "utmost respect." And so, in that spirit, I'm open to hearing what would undoubtedly be an interesting definition of the term from Mr. Petty or his illustrious staff. Mr. Petty & Co. say in their rebuttal, "We are not perfect but these claims are untrue," but they're only half right there. Alas, yes, they are not perfect - well done for admitting it, the humility is inspiring, let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya - until we get to the other half of the sentence, of course. Because that VA was not making false claims and they know it, and apparently quite a lot of other people they've dealt with know it, too. All one need do is read the other reports here, and then bop over to Google and find all the other interesting tidbits of information floating around about what they've done. Even the most rudimentary sleuthing reveals a lot. To anyone else out there reading this - please do not be fooled by this one VA acknowledging he has now paid those invoices, because it is but a single voice here and PARTICULARLY since said VA also notes that he "as an extra incentive, has offered a bonus for updating my report." Forgive me, but that sounds like he's trying to buy back some reputation here - a reputation that wouldn't be having these problems if he'd been responsible and conducted himself in an aboveboard manner in the first place. But hey, if that's the way you roll, go for it! You paid the VA off and the VA updated the report. Great! But this leads us to a very important question: what about the others, Mr. Petty? Do they get their money back/get paychecks (that don't bounce, of course), and also get bonuses for suffering the misfortune of having crossed your path and then having the temerity to speak up about it? Inquiring minds want to know.

I would like to update my report to reflect that Mr. Petty of Visionary Publishing did make good on my invoices and as an extra incentive, has offered a bonus for updating my report. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of Mr. Petty in making this right with me.

The rebuttal submitted from Visionary Publishing is UNTRUE! I can provide names and numbers of other VA's as well as customers who were scammed by this company. This company still owes me $400 in which I was asked to re-submit my invoice 2 weeks ago and never heard another word other than excuses that are used with everyone else which consists of errors with a paypal account. Anyone who trusts this man or any aspect of his comany is foolish. I have personally spoken to other employees of his who are collectively, TO DATE owed money for services. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
