To anyone considering Chase Credit Card, PLEASE READ AHEAD, DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Transunion and the deceptive fine print is one of the problems for which I have submitted a separate Rip-off Report, but Chase IS also the problem, which is why I submitted this second Rip-off Report for Chase. To clarify further for Elaine and AAfes. While on the 3-way call that I described above, Tanya, a Chase supervisor, pressured me to give my social security number and date of birth to True Credit. Chase validated that I needed to forfeit my personal information in order to close a subscription that I did not know I was signed up for in the first place. I did give True Credit my name and my address, for which there is no other April ___________ at that address in the whole United States, and could easily be identified. So, I fail to see why Tanya from Chase stood behind this request for more of my personal information in order to stop this subscription charge from True Credit. I believe, and I think that others can see before signing up, that Chase was not responsible or credible for not supporting me in trying to cancel the subscription and protecting me from further charges. I still stand CHASE CREDIT CARD DOES NOT STAND BEHIND VALID DISPUTES. Further, Elaine's final remark in her rebuttal summaries Chase's attitude toward the customer that I received. P.S. I'm a bit curious, I wrote thie Rip-off Report against Chase because I was Ripped-off and wanted others to know and be warned. But why have Elaine and AAfes have gone to such trouble to write in defense of Chase, do they have some kind of investment in Chase Credit? I'll not be spending further time with this report. The facts stand as they are for others to see and make their judgment and I stand behind them.

The problem is not with Chase. It is with Transunion (which owns Truecredit) as well as the fact you did not fully read or perhaps understand the offer. If you try to access your annual free credit report via the Transunion website, there is actually NO option to do so. They do have several options for a "free trial" to credit monitoring service(s) which take you directly to Truecredit's website. If you accessed via the TU website this is what occurred. If you have not already cancelled, you have the option to do so. Agencies are required to provide a free annual credit report at your request. To "streamline" the process for those requesting online the three agencies set up a separate website called annualcreditreport. The report is also available free via mail request and/or a toll free telephone call. While I commend your vigilance in protecting your personal information ALL of the parties involved (Transunion/Truecredit/Chase) already have your SSN, DOB, Address, Credit Card Numbers etc. They asked for the information to verify your identity. Your DOB is public record, your SSN, while not intended to be utilized as a national ID number has evolved into such over the years.

April, You were not on the correct website to get a free credit bureau report. You went to Transunion and signed up for one of their programs. You probably missed the "fine print", but you get one free report, then they charge you monthly. You had to click on the "I agree" button and give them your credit/debit card information. The true free credit report does not require any credit card info, just information to prove who you are. Your problem is with Transunion. You need to contact them to cancel the service. They may or may not give you a refund. Transunion is the credit card company - they already have your personal information, you gave it to them online. You'll need to give it to them again - you can do it over the phone or do it in writing - so they can review your account. Unless they have that information, they won't be able to help you. There may be more than one "April _____" on their databases. Once you dispute with them, contact Chase again with your dispute. You'll disagree with me and Chase, but the way they're looking at it - you AGREED to the charges on the Transunion website, therefore the charges are appropriate. Revisit the appeal process and you should be ok. As for dumping the Chase Credit card, that was probably a good idea anyway!
