I am tried of seeing obvious employees and owners of credit collection agencies trying to respond to comments under aliases. It is very transparent and frankly pathetic.
You only need to look this particular agency up under the Better Business Bureau to know they are bad news. They have a history of trying to recollect debts that were paid many years ago. I guess they hope the person no longer has the documentation or has forgotten. Reeks of desperation. They are also known offenders of the FTC especially when it comes to harassing phone calls. I recommend anyone with documented and legitimate complaints to file both online with FTC and the Better Business Bureau.

""It just so happens I am a CA lawyer. So I do some research to find out Chase Receivable's corp. status in CA is suspended. That means the owner is personally liable for any judgments. If you live in CA and have a valid case against Chase Receivables I recommend you contact a lawyer. Or better yet file a small claims case in your local community. You can get up to $7,500 in CA small claims. But be sure you have a valid case. Do not file a frivolous lawsuit. "" Let me see if I understand this. You're receiving collection calls for someone you don't know so you "do some research" in an attempt to figure out how to stop the calls. Here's an idea for you. Send them a LETTER! Hey, you're an attorney right? So, send them a letter on your letterhead informing them that they are calling the wrong number and demand they stop contacting you. Here's another suggestion; send the letter certified, return receipt requested. IF they are fool enough to call you after receiving your letter, you have them for violating the FDCPA and the California statute known as the Rosenthal FDCPA. Problem solved. I'm surprised I need to suggest this to an "attorney" (sorry, but I don't believe you're an attorney.)
