I was employed as an OTR driver for Chizek for 6 months. During this time I threatened to quit 2 times for various reasons including no air conditioning in my truck.

Because of their paperless logs and impossible demands of on time delivery, during the past three weeks I informed them that I might be leaving.

***During the week of August 1st, I told them that I would probably be leaving.

On August 6th, I delivered a load to a city 5 miles from Chizek's terminal. After dropping the load, I was told to pick up a loaded trailer at the same customer and bring it to Chizek's terminal. ***I was sent the load info by the qual-com but was given the instructions to leave it at the terminal by dispatcher's "Tammey and Jim" by phone. They told me by phone that I would be given 'something else' (a different load) when I dropped this trailer.

I suspected that something was wrong, so I put in an "empty call-final destination" macro on my qual-com after dropping this loaded trailer.

After dropping this load, I was awaiting further instructions from dispatch. At this time Chizek's recruiter, Dave Zander came to my truck and told me that my rider was causing my work to "go down hill".

This is a lot of nonsence . My work actually increased because I had someone to help me with paperwork, trip planning, directions, etc.

At this time I quit. ***While driving home, I received a phone call from Dave Zander telling me that I had "abandoned" the load. And that they were going to take my last paychecks.

Every truck driver in this country is aware of the tricks that these companies play in order to maximize their profits and this 'load abandonment' scam is one of them. Do you think you are safe if you bring your truck back to the terminal? No way.

Now I must go back to Wisconson and file a lawsuit in order to get my pay if they refuse to pay me.
