On August 19, 2011, Christian Brothers moving and Storage was contracted to come to my house to wrap, protect, and move my belongings into 2 PODS. Im highly DISAPPOINTED with Christian Brothers Moving and Storage. I chose Christian Brothers because they claimed to be a Christian Company, their rating with the BBB, and I wanted to support local businesses. John, the sales person at Christian Brothers assured me my possessions would be in the best of hands if I chose them to do my move. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the WORST moving experience ever! Every piece of furniture was damaged due to Christian Brothers gross negligence, recklessness, unprofessionalism, and complete disregard for my possessions.

When I called the local office, on the day of the move, to express my concerns for the way my belongings were packed and handled during the move, John, the sales person, became very defensive and rude and offered no solution. When I called the corporate office on August 24, 2011, I received the same attitude. Doug, the Operations Manager, and Zack, the Regional Manager, told me it sounded as if I was having a case of buyers remorse and wanted my money back. Each individual I spoke to, locally and corporate, claimed to be the highest level of management and that the decision was made and they would hear nothing more. They would not return my email when asked to speak to the president of the company, Brian Robertson.

I filed a claim with Christian Brothers Insurance Company, Claims Adjusting Firm, on October 17, 2011, along with photos of all the damage, and a repair quote I received from Leather and Wood craftsman, Inc. to repair the damages (which was $2675), and waited patiently for a response. 5 months later, on March 28, 2012, this was Claims Adjusting Firms response:

Dirty items. Company is not responsible to clean any dirty furniture. Not covered under the carrier liability insurance. NWT: normal wear and tear of a move, minor scratches. Not covered under the carrier liability insurance. Item was picked up with previews conditions. Please refer to your inventory list {condition at origin} cannot pay for this item.

Pressed wood- company is not responsible for pressed wood/formica items not covered under the carrier liability insurance, the reason is furniture made from pressed wood participles are easily broken when transported.

I was in shock by their response! I have pictures from my Realtor to prove that there was No pre-existing damage to any of my furniture, my furniture was not dirty, and definitely was not made of pressed wood! And the excuse of normal wear and tear of a move is totally unacceptable!

After disputing this settlement offer, 3 months later, on June 11, 2012, I received yet a completely different reason Christian Brothers was denying my claim:

Thank you for contacting the Claims Adjusting Firm. After reviewing your email of dispute and the settlement offer sent to you, this email is to inform you about the results of the final revision of your claim. The case has been reviewed by supervisors of our office along with supervisors of the moving company. Unfortunately, we regret to inform you that there wont be any further compensation for the enclosed claim. The damaged items were wrapped and packed PBO; Packed by the owner.

Yet another lie. If I packed everything myself, then what did I pay Christian Brothers $697 to do?! Clearly, Christian Brothers will stop at nothing to get out of doing whats right.

When I called Claims Adjusting Firm on June 13, 2012 to talk to a Supervisor regarding their final decision, I was told that the Supervisors do not take calls.

I would not recommend Christian Brothers Moving and Storage to anyone! They cannot be trusted and could care less about your belongings.

It is Christian Brothers Moving and Storages responsibility to have the damages they inflicted to my furniture due to their gross negligence, recklessness, unprofessionalism, and complete disregard for my possessions repaired by the Company of my choosing.
