Although I do not know who is particular client is, she is certainly someone who would rather complain about my services than pay off her bill. This, unfortunately, is what many family law attorneys must deal with. As for the statement that I "lied to [her] by telling [her] it would not be more than $1500 . . .", my fee contract, which the client most certainly signed in the presence of a notary public, is clear. The retainer paid was just that--a retainer. There was no guarantee--written or otherwise--that my fees would not exceed the amount of the retainer paid. In addition, this client states that I sued her in court and won an additional $1,500. I must have won because the judge found that I was ENTITLED to the money. When companies are not paid for their services, they sue the customers; attorneys are no different and want to get paid. This former client is obviously bitter about something, but it probably has more to do with the divorce itself than my fees.

I personally know a few people who used Chris Link as their divorce attorney. They were extremely pleased with his services and stated that his fees were not out of line with other attorneys. As for his advice, they said he was always very candid about their options and the time involved with the various options. I think everyone understands that for attorneys, time = fees. If someone doesn't understand this, it is easy to see why a complaint might be filed.

Besides the previous report, I have discovered he has ripped off numerous other of his clients. Hopefully, they will post their reports here.
