Chubb Group of Insurance Companies Chubb Group Of Insurance Companies IS NOT INTERESTED IN FAIR SETTLEMENT EVEN DRIVER AT FAULT IN CHICAGO IL , Internet
My car was hit by a UHAUL Truck while it was parked on the street. I was not in the car, my car was parked legally. The driver hit my car from the side so hard, that he had pushed in my left fender in and moved the car forward while ripping a huge portion of my bumper out. The driver admitted fault and said he/she had great insurance and that either worked for and/or has some ties with Chubb. When I contacted Chubbs Insurance Claims department, I was informed that the driver was not insured by 2 Representatives and the Supervisor telling me the driver is not on the policy, but the driver's parents was. The next day, the adjuster called me and said driver was on the policy, when I asked her to clarify why I was informed that the driver was not, they said it was a mistake. But the adjuster was so angry about it and defensive like as if they don't want me to ask anymore. (Something smells fishy and it's definitely coming from Chubb)
I spoke with the adjuster and he/she said that they wouldn't pay out 50% of the damages. I asked them why would they, because they said I was partly to blame because they claimed my car was illegally parked. I had pictures of the sign where I was parked and it shows that the only time I CAN'T PARK on the street was between 7AM & 9AM during rush hour. The accident happened around noon, but the insurance company is fighting me about it.
I called them a couple days later and they upgraded their offer telling me that they will still pay half of the claim AND will include my Rental. I told they should provide the full amount, but they still don't want to pay the full amount of the claim.
I called my insurance company, UHAUL, RepWest Insurance (UHAUL insurance company) to get this resolved and they all agree that Chubb SHOULD PAY FOR THE FULL AMOUNT. Still Chubb admits fault, but won't pay for the full amount.
Chubbs has been the worst insurance I have ever dealt with AND if you ever get hit by anyone from Chubbs Insurance please do the following:
1. Call the COPS - No matter how nice they are, call them and make them come to the scene of the accident to write the police report.
2. Make sure you get all the driver's information, vehicle that hit you (plate, vin and what type of car) and copy of insurance card to prove they are even insured with this company. - If they don't have insurance card with them, tell the Police Officer.
3. Take tons of pictures
4. Last but not least, don't be nice because their insurance won't
