Churchdwight (Arm & Hammer) Arm & Hammer Peroxi Care leaves me toothless? Princeton New Jersey
In April last year I began starting my day as I would any other, brushing my teeth. So I squeeze a hefty slab of Churchdwights Arm & Hammer toothpaste on my toothbrush and start to brush. After dousing my mouth with the paste, I go to clamp down to work on the front and POW! bit down on something saying Oh @#$*!
So then I begin to extract the contents in my mouth which included toothpaste, half a tooth and a small (able to fit through the spout)rather transparent, shard of hard plastic. A bit dazed by this I checked my toothbrush which was perfectly intact and concluded that this came from the toothpaste. Peroxi terrorisim!
I contacted the consumer relations department with what happened and was subsequently acknowledged with the "striving to be the best" damage control statement. I said look, It's cool! things happen, just fix my tooth. It's all I want.
Then, they send the nice package with the $4.00 check (which I did not cash) asking for documentation and a dental report along with the foreign object in question. After a high resolution photography session, photocopies of documents and affidavits from witness's, I comply.
I was told in December 07 that they had received the package and that I would receive the results of their investigation by US mail within 4-6 weeks. (I think they meant 4-6 months)
It is now been an excruciating 5 months later since they contacted me last with a token response today. In the meantime, I live in pain (nerve endings exposed) with ora gel and aleve, and half a smile which being in sales, does not go over very well because I need a root canal and crown.
How do they get away with this and how do I proceed?
