I received a "free" credit report from CIC Credit Monitoring Service. I immediately emailed the company to cancel the extended credit monitoring service.

On the 2nd of this month I received a charge on my credit card for $79.95. I contacted them by phone and email. They stated a refund would be applied to my account within 7 to 10 business days.

On the 5th another charge of $79.95 was withdrawn from my account. I immediately contacted them again yet was told by customer service representatives they did not withdraw the additional $79.95.

I spoke to the supervisor who stated there is nothing that could be done. His suggestion was to write a rebuke letter to my bank. If I wanted to speak to his boss I have to write a letter to them.

I spoke to my bank who stated CIC credit monitoring service uses electronic withdraw and charging. The mistake was not made at the bank. This is a scam. Do not give them your credit card number.

Don't give up on collecting that refund! Don't worry about them hiding behind that damn box. The Post Master will hold the letter

Call 1-888-888-8553 to collect your CIC Monitor refund, and to complete your Member Cancellation. You are entitled based on their "Membership Agreement". They have not given any trouble through this number. You are hopefully still within the 6 month time frame, so act fast! The longer you wait, the more difficult it will become. It also wouldn't hurt to send them a written letter, signature/certified as proof you are not a member, and have withdrawn from all or any membership. In the letter you also need to state, that they are NOT authorized to make any charges to any of your bank or credit card accounts. Here is a Post Office Box that might work, unless they have closed it out: Consumerinfo.com/CIC Monitor P.O. Box 1909 Orange, CA, 92865 Don't worry about them hiding behind that d**n box. The Post Master will hold the letter, and they will have to go to his desk, and provide a signature, in order to receive it. Whoever gives that signature is legally accountable. IF they dehigh the credibility of the signature, it's not your concern. Really, they should give you that refund. Just as well change your account number. Give your bank a copy of this Report (your Rip-off Report), and quickly direct them to this website. They might have other bank account holders, in the same situation, and it will at the least prepare them for future circumstances. They can access informtion through Category: Credit Reporting Agencies or a search by name: CIC Monitor, and it will lead them to the necessary information. They need to give you a FULL refund, on the double charge as well. Whatever the guy told you on the phone is totally irrelevant. Hope to hear back from you with good news. Rip-off Report Volunteer
