My boyfriend and I logged onto "freecreditreport.com", we got our credit report and then immediatly called and cancelled the membership so we wouldn't get billed.

On the 3rd of the following month, we had two $9.95 fees taken out of our bank account. We called again to cancel and they had no record that we had cancelled already. we were broke and I then had $66.00 in overdraft fees charged to us from our bank.

We faxed complaints to "CIC's, Consumer Relations" and received $19.90 back in our account. No response via phone or e-mail from them.

We then were billed $9.95 two times again the following month. I called they said that they weren't sure why because my account had been cancelled. We then checked via my boyfriends info. He was charged even though we cancelled it twice now, yet they had no record.

We filled out forms with our bank to try to get our money back.

Please help. Freecredit report.com has helped ruin my credit. I have had over 4 overdraft fees because of them and have no way to prove we cancelled this over and over.

What a RIP-OFF!!!!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Mon, May 02, 2005

After using the service for several months I decided to cancel as it seemed to be doing me no good. I called the company on April 18,2005 at 12:10pm spoke with Trevor employee ID number 18317 (I know to get this info b/c I used to work doing something very similar to this company) ... Well stupid me thinking my ex-company were the only slime balls ... I should have taken more steps and I'll explain later Today on May 2,2005 another charge appears to my surprise. I call the company and speak with Anna employee ID number 60704 ... she said it stated in my account that I had indeed requested cancellation but they were having "system problems" (same thing my ex-company used to say to their customers) She said she would credit back my account and that it should show up in 7-10 days back in my account ... this time I was sent an email confirmation of my cancellation Here's what everyone should do who comes across this problem and what I'm doing now that I see the problem exists: 1. call to cancel and make sure you get the name of who you spoke with and there ID number (if you cancel online make sure you print something that states you do with the date on it) 2. request an email confirmation of your cancellation & DO NOT take no for an answer they can do it because they did it for me. 3. Call your bank and request no additional charges be honored by this company >>>I know it's alot but it's unfortunately what it's going to take if you don't want to be charged again ( I used to do the same exact thing these people on the phone with this company are doing ... my ex-company is based out of Cincinnati, Oh Berkeley .. look em up they're on here as well plenty of times) >>>Also you can file a dispute with your bank or credit card company if you have been billed after cancellation ... your bank will contact the company on you behalf and investigate ... this should be no problem if you have proof of cancellation (employee ID number, email etc...) AND after so many complaints by customers to credit card companies regarding problems like this that credit card company will no longer allow charges from that company AT ALL ... Discover dropped my ex-company like a bad habit! ... and if after all that you are still charged after cancellation ... post on here, go to the BBB & Attorney General & kick and scream until something is done ... enough complaints and something WILL be done ... I also know this from working for the company I did b/c now they are so wrapped up in law suits and complaints that they can no longer afford to advertise there "free" product on TV nationwide (saw that bit of info on the local news while I was in the hospital having my baby in March, 05) ...System problems my butt ... just read how far back these complaints on here date back to ... Good Luck Everyone I will be checking back & I will post if I get my money back or what does become of it ... now I must venture off to the BBB website and ATT Gen ...DEMAND RESPECT FOR YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WE ALL WORK TOO HARD FOR IT FOR THESE JERKS TO JUST RIP IT OFF ... ps ... I quit my job in customer service doing this same exact thing (ripping people off) when I was 4 months pregnant and needing a job worse than ever ... b/c this JUST ISN'T RIGHT.
