In august of 2005 I purchased a new cingular cell phone. I had lost my At%T phone. I had full insurance. I bought a new phone because I was attracted to all of the features, ie" voice activation, movie camera, etc. I had to take the phone back before 30 days due to no reception and dropping all calls. They traded it for an identiclal model SGH p 217. While on vacation on Dec 15, the phone froze on a call. I called the company and they told me they would send a replacement. They sent me a much cheaper telephne. It doesn't have the same features, as a matter of fact it doens't have hardly any features. It had really bad reception and I called and complained to the company that they "ripped me off" by sending me a phone that sold for $80. less than the one I purchased 3 months prior. They told me they would send me another phone, When it arrived it was the same phone they sent me before. The $80 cheaper model. They said the SGHp217 had been discontinued and this was the replacement phone for that model. When confronted that this phone sold for $80 less than the phone I bought..took out the best insurance, they said that was because of depreciation on the phone. I hate the new phone. It drops at least every other call and will not work well when I'm at home. Although we live next to a towere it doesn't get good reception out here.

This is such a rip off and I feel like my hands are tied. There is no-one in cingular customer service who gives a flip.

This is clearly another act of deceptive trade. Please let me know if there is ever a class action suite againest Cingular. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

This past Monday morning I called the Presidents Office at Cingular. It was a number that I got off this website. The number is 404 236 6000. I spoke with a woman named Sue Berkhart and also a woman named Debbie. I explained the situation to Sue and she took care of it for me. During our conversation the cell phone dropped the call and I never got back in touch with Sue, but Debbie spoke with her and they made this right for me. It is Wednesday night and I recieved my new phone this morning. It was really fast. The new phone is more like the original one that I purchased and has the same features. It is not dropping calls and has good reception. I feel that the wrong has been righted and I'm grateful to Sue and Debbie. Cingular came through.
