Okay, apparently you are not aware of how extended warranties work. All of the extended warranties (CityAdvantage Protection Plan, CityAssure, etc) are contracted through a third party, NOT Circuit City. That company is called Assurant Solutions (a subsidiary of GE), the EXACT same company that handles warranties for Best Buy and Walmart, among others. So the same process would have happened, regardless. Direct your anger where it belongs, instead of bashing people who had nothing to do with your experience.

I'll agree that CC, and more importantly the City Assure is incredibly hard to deal with. I am going through something similar with a tv I bought from Circuit City. We got a 2 year protection plan and we are just now approaching the 1 year mark. The bulb has gone out and the plan we purchased states that a new one will be mailed to us. Well, all they want to do is send a technician out to look at it, but, they can only come while my husband and I are at work. They outsource to companies in the area so who knows the kind of service you will actually get. As far as Toshiba goes, I actually have a Toshiba laptop myself. I got it about two years ago, and I can't say that I've had any of the kind of problems that you have had. I got it from Best Buy though, not that that should make a difference. What I've learned is that sometimes you just get a crappy product. But that doesn't mean that everything that company makes everytime is going to be crappy. Just my .02. I will say that we will never purchase a protection plan/extended warranty ever again.
