And yes, I am an American. But I just have to repeat what others have already stated. You actually believed that software, which was purchased SEPARATELY, was covered under the Protection Plan of the laptop? I mean, that's like saying you bought a Bluray player and a Bluray dvd, lost the dvd, and expect them to replace it! Come on people, let's pull our heads out of our rears. The rest of the world is laughing so hard at us, I can actually hear them.

Microsoft Office doesn't come with ANY computer for FREE! Almost all manufacturers have a trial version of Microsoft Office on the machine they sell. HP for example gives you 60 days trial of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007, you have to activate the software for the trial to start, otherwise after 25 starts of any program in the suite the software goes into reduced functionality mode until you activate it for the 60 day trial. After the 60 days is up you will be prompted to purchase the software. Microsoft Works comes on most HP/Compaq machine for free. Also you can use an open source alternative called OpenOffice (((ROR redacted))) sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. In this case we removed an alleged competitor's name

Your facts are a little off. First, if you have the warranty, SOFTWARE IS NOT COVERED!!!!! When are people going to get this through their heads? No warranty covers software. None, zip, zilch. Understand? Second, the warranty is still good. You just have to go through Assurant to get it serviced. Remember though, SOFTWARE IS NOT COVERED. Finally, Circuit City was never "working with" Firedog. Circuit City owned Firedog. Firedog is going out of business right along with Circuit City. When people file a complaint they should really know the facts first. Not knowing the facts makes them look like complete idiots.

When you responded "in kind" was your answer yes or no? Were those the only words spoken in the conversation? I'm inclined to think not. Please read your own post and put yourself in my position. After reading it do you really think anyone cares or that someone would say to themselves " That poor thing!!! Those horrible people at Circuit City not only were rude to her, but ''stole'' over "1.5" hours of her life!! How will they ever repay her". See my point? What has happened to the people of this country??? Oh, and by the way, they're out of business so what good did you think this post would do?

Despite the fact that I was laid off last month in the first round of store-closings, and feel no sympathy for Circuit City's demise, I still feel obliged to point out that you are completely and totally wrong - all extended warranties are still good. All of Circuit City's extended warranties are contracted through a third party, Assurant Solutions. As per the conditions of the extended warranty, if there the problem is software-related, it is not covered. However, any hardware defects are covered; and if you got the accidental damage coverage, all physical damage is covered. You can take full advantage of your extended warranty by going here: http://www.assurantsolutions.com/extendedprotection/contactUs.html . Furthermore, Firedog is not a separate company, it is a brand name owned and created by Circuit City. Also, try to have a little compassion for the employees - they just had a bombshell dropped on them, and 30,000+ people are losing their jobs, and in many cases, their livelihood.
