CITI BANK MASTER CARD NOTICE OF LATE PAYMENT, MISSED PAYMENT, DEFAULT OF ACCOUNT SIOUX CITY South Dakota
I recieved a letter that I was being reported to the credit bureau for a late payment, missed payment, or default on a Mastercard Account I did not recognize.
I was in panic thinking someone had opened an account in my name.
I tried for one hour calling the Citibank numbers listed, on a Friday evening, only to be told that they were all closed.
I finally got hold of their "Internet Fraud Bureau" and was told not to worry that a computer error had sent out those letters in error to persons who may have had a Citibank account in the past that was now closed.
He said an apology letter would follow.
I feel this info should have been posted on the
Citi Bank web site.
I also find it hard to believe that you can not report a lost or stolen credit card on the weekends. Not a very comforting thought.
