One other thing you should probably do is to contact your local police department and file a police report concerning the wire transfer scam with whatever division handles fraud investigations. It can only help in the long run with what ever legal actions CitiBank may take against you. Good luck and best wishes.

Unfortunately, Willie, as you are probably already aware, you are the latest victim of a very old scam. Unfortunately you are also the one left holding the bag. You are the only one that CitiBank can go after since the account is in your name. Right now it sounds like a civil matter but if you cannot work out an arrangement to pay CitiBank back their money, it could become a criminal matter. If you have a relative or friend who is or knows a lawyer, it might be wise to speak with them and get their advice. Good luck resolving this with CitiBank.
