Do you blame everything on being disabled ? You need to take personal responsibility for your yard and home - sorry I used to live in Decatur for over 48 years and they would have gotten you for trash and stuff like that but NOT specifically because you are a disabled vet

I for one have recieved the same issue. We had an older shelf on our front porch, and the city sent a notice to remove it before a fine is inposed. It was stained and weather proof, also didn't look bad on the porch either, kind of blended in with the house. But the city said it wasn't designed for outdoor use so we couldn't use it...we used it for when we were grilling outside or ate outside, to hold the stuff we were using at that time. So, no it is not discrimination, people in my area have couches and the such on their porches, it is just random pickiness if you ask me.

First off Elaine to answer your suggestion about my tires it is a winter set of tires for my truck and are still good on rims and hold air. I am limited by space in my garage so they ARE in my back yard. It is not discrimination on the sole basis of the tires it is the problem that no matter what I do they continue to harp on me and me alone. It's leaves one week, tires another, a pile of sticks I picked up and stacked in a pile, my garbage can being in the wrong place on my property, my truck parked beside my garage over nite, a kids toy that sat infront of the house for a week by the garage door a neatly stacked set of bricks next to the dog kennel to keep the dog from digging out. These are all complaints I have gotten from the city and I'm tired of their petty stuff. I talked to other neighbors of mine to see if they are having the same problems and none of them are. I believe that because I am a Disabled vet they are singling me out. When a municipality does something regarding the law they must make an attempt to do it to everyone. They afforded the other people who were in court today the chance to clean it up that those people didn't. I stopped one just to see if her recieved the letter and a follow up before court and he did. I recieved neither. There for the city is at fault for not doing to one as the have done to others. There have been several law suits about this in cities like mine and a great percentage have won. I am planning to do the same here. They have to treat all citisens the same or it is favortism and discrimination against the person the didn't do the same for. As for the location of the tires it is out of sight, they had to come on to my property to find them which tells me they are intentionally seeking was to disrupt my life and harrass me. But thanks for your comment, too bad I already thought of that.

I just don't see how cleaning up tires stacked next to your house equates to discrimination, but if you want it to stop put the tires in your garage, your back yard, in a shed, or get rid of them. Don't look at the others until you clean up your own yard. THEN you can file complaints with the city for failing to enforce certain statutes. It's a simple solution, really. Just put them away!
