Thank you for responding, in the real world all the things you discribed would be handled as you discribed. However NONE were the case with Dr. David Self. Not only did his office never call Humana while I was in his office, they did not even call days after. I called Humana to complain about this COAST DENTAL which I chose because he was in my patient book as an in-network dentist. After Humana's request, is when his office started sending in Febuary 20TH the first PROPOSED TREATMENT PLAN $1147.00 I recieved a copy from Humana on 2/23/12. MY SERVICE WAS ON JAN. 26/12
On my second call to Humana, I was told they never sent requested documentation and my case was on HOLD.
Humana did make another attemped while I was on hold and they promised to send requested documentation. Mind you we are still talking about PROPOSED TREATMENT PLAN!
I was in the office on January 26 it was finished!!!! The packet I received on the way out
PROPOSED TREATMENT PLAN $1152.00 EST. iNS. $289.00 GE FINANCE $863.00 12mo inter. free WHOOPY!!!
The final bill to Humana was $1307.00 and they paid $362.00 Humana was unable to get explanations to charges on the itemized bill that had nothing to do with a DEEP CLEANING.
Your Corp. Offices know what you signed up for when you joined A Healthcare Provider but your individual offices are doing their own thing. Maybe they are required to produce set amounts per month. THAT IS WHY THEY TURN INTO CROOKS!! i
I have read a lot about COAST DENTAL after the fact. Unbelievable!!
I am working with my Healthcare Provider to have COAST DENTAL removed from their in -network listing. After all Humana members trust their Healthcare Provider to give them honest and trustworthy DR. or Dentists. DR. DAVID SELF is not a good fit!!

Thank you for your comment. Our dentists formulate treatment plans for each patient based on their clinical findings of a complete exam and x-rays, not based on the terms of insurance coverage. Coast Dental's standard fees are routinely below the average price for the services provided. When a patient submits a dental insurance plan, Coast Dental must charge the fees contractually determined by the patient's insurance carrier. Our policy is to research insurance coverage and present a thorough treatment plan to the patient including the estimated costs insurance does not cover. Please contact our Patient Relations team at 1-855-455-6601 so that we may address your concern. Thank you.
