Complaint filed against Coke's Auto Repair 3535 N. 6th St. Harrisburg,Pa 17110I

I took my car in for a gas leak in the main fuel line, which Gary showed me, and  over $2000 and 2 months later, he gave me back a car with the engine and seatbelt/airbag lights on and he could not figure out why. I had to return to Coke's to have the gas leak repaired again because he did not fix correctly.  I had to return to have the engine lights fixed but he could not repair. He told me he could not do it all and I had to take to dealer for repairs.  I took to local dealer, Turner Kia, for repairs. The work was for undoing the faulty wiring work that he did that set off the engine lights.  It cost me $500 to get fixed correctly and Gary will not reimburse for his faulty work.  My wife missed work and could not take her sister to her dialysis appointments at Hershey Medical Center Over this 2 month period. I messages and called Gary but they went ignored and unreturned.  Again, not HIS PROBLEM!!!

I AM TAKING COKE'S AUTO to SMALL CLAIMS COURT to get my MONEY REIMBURSED!!!!  YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO COKE's!!!  THE AGGREVATION and EXSPENSE is NOT WORTH IT!!!!

The dealer's work was comprised of UNDOING the wiring for a starter that Coke's put in.  When I took the car into Coke's the starter worked fine. After he initially finished the car he gave it back but it would not start.  Gary said that it now needed a new starter which he put in.  He gave the car back and it still would not start. He could not figure out how to put the starter in correctly so he had his mechanic run a wire directly from the starter to the ignition.  In doing so, the mechanic damaged the starter sensor and he also ran the wire through the airbag connection which is at the base of the steering wheel.  These were the corresponding lights that came on my instrumentaction panel in the dash and these are the two lights that Coke's could not figure out how to correct.  This is when HE, GARY COKE OWNER of COKE'S AUTO, told me personally to take the car to the dealer becasue HE COULD NOT REPAIR!!!  Just think about this before you consider going to Coke's for repair, why would someone pay over $2000 for repairs and then have to go to a dealer? ANSWER: because the garage does FAULTY WORK and the dealership had to redo/ undo the work he could not do correctly.

When I presented Gary with the $500 repair bill for reimbursement he came back with a check for $114.00. The presentation of the check clearly shows he accepts liability for the faulty work but he refuses to reimburse fully because that would acknowledge the FULL INCOMPETIENCE of his work.

Coke's will reply with a rebuttal to this, as I  told him that I was filing a "ripoff" report and reporting on Angie's list.  He replied, " I should have never worked on your PIECE of  SH!! car to begin with".  Amazing that he did not feel that way when I paid him $2000 for repairs that were not done correctly. He is going to say that he did not charge for the starter being put in. This is because it was a week long ordeal of it being put in, towed, retowed and then being repaired/installed incorrectly. Several times during the entire repair process, I or my wife had to give his mechanics "rides" to come get and fix our car.  I had to fill his loaner vehicles twice with gas as they were given to me empty.  Loaners that were given because he could not repair timely or correctly. When I went to get the first loaner his mechanic left work early and failed to leave the keys for the car...again, not his problem as Gary was nowhere to be found.

i talked with Gary's mechanics, who he was going to fire because of the faulty work and never did, about the repairs that I was charged for and he said he NEVER did a full tune up and could not explain other charges on my bill. When I asked Gary about this, he got very upset for me questioning his work and integrity. He assured me the work had been done and that he had the receipts...receipts I never saw.

To summarize, this was a two month ordeal that cost me over $2000 for a car that was returned several times with continuing problems.  Coke's Auto, Gary himself, told me he could not fix the car correctly and that I needed to take it to a dealer for proper repairs.  These repairs cost me an additional $500 to undo the faulty work that he and his mechanics did. He offered me $114 to go away, admitting fault but refusing to reimburse fully.

Do not trust his website, as we have it directly from his mechanics that he had family members put in positive reviews to deceive the public.  Gary will tell you exactly what you want to hear but when it comes down to it, he is never around, his work is embarrassingly poor and ignores reimbursing costs for having his faulty work repaired correctly. And remember, Gary personally told me to take the car to the dealer because HE COULD NOT REPAIR CORRECTLY!!!

FINAL ADVICE: STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY, YOUR CAR AND YOUR SANITITY!!!!!

Jeff
