Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. We had moved across country and this company is horrendous. Do not recommend RJ.

The move: To start, they were were 4 hours late on moving day with multiple excuses that didn’t add up. During the sales call and estimate, I was told that we need to purchase mattress bags and the movers will use for no addl charge. Come to find out that the movers DO charge to open and use the bags. The best part is they didn’t even use the bags, even though I was charged! After everything was complete around 12am, they had the nerve to solicit a tip. I typically would have but here’s a tip, show up on time and in the window.

The delivery: They just missed the window by 5 minutes late. There were several items broken during the move. Including our expensive mattress which they bent, thus breaking a spring in the internals. There are several items nicked, dented, and scratched. They lost a bookshelf and some glass for our coffee table.

We also received 3 extra boxes that were not ours. When I confronted the movers about this, they said “well it is now...” they also were not handling fragile items well, they kept slinging my TV boxes around the room. At the end of the night, the mover had gotten into an argument with me for something petty. I calmly explained that there were several things broken, and I’ll be taking it up with colonial. He started to lose his cool and snapped back with “it isn’t broken, it’s damaged or dented. Anything damaged was pressed wood.” I was furious at this point and pointed to my mattress and asked if it was all pressed wood, how do you explain this? He left in a hurry and did not complete assembly of our spare bed and left several items downstairs in our garage.

The aftermath: we received a call asking how the move went and we voiced our concerns. They have now been terrible at responding, and wanted to settle for 600$ in damages. I feel that it’s at least fair to receive our 2k deposit back, and they won’t answer emails or return calls.
