I became a member of the online Columbia House site because I could pay online for movies. After honoring my credit card for several requests the company -without an explanation- proceeded to cancel the possibility of its being used, much to the chagrin of both myself and my bank. They then tried to penalize ME for the hangup, requesting I pay for not completing contract of buying so many movies or of spending x amount within the timeframe stipulated. After numerous letters threatening me because of the non pro user policies, and after again ascertaining the refusal to make payment on the part of my bank was non existent, I was able to contact them and give a new credit card number and expiration date. This was accepted by the online engine which the company uses.

I proceeded to choose movies that would add up to the amount stated I needed to spend to fulfill the contract. In good faith, I also proceeded to search for more movies and once again the new card number and expiration date was accepted for payment. However, I learned from my bank today that Columbia House has not invoiced the credit account and, given the letters demanding $$ difference for not fulfilling contract that are still arriving, I have asked the bank not honor any and all requests Columbia House may make as of today.

Mistakes were also made in terms of my requests and I informed them I was returning some movies because of their mistake. They also tried to make me buy movies they originally accepted to send me at a price different from that which appeared online. I have no time to waste online at my godfather's pc writing letters of complaints and trying to protect my credit line. I am a licenced EMT Technician and a licensed nurse in an emergency room at a large hospital. I relax with movies and buy them for myself and my daughter. I do not need the frustration or the worry CH has caused because of its policy.
