Comcast was advertising Visa gift cards if you signed up for their Xfinity triple play program, and I chose one that specified that it came with a $300

Visa gift card. The terms were that I had to make all of my payments on time and stay with them for over 90 days. After the initial 90 days, there was no information about the card on the website they told me to watch (http://checkmyrebate.com/comcast/status.aspx). I called the rebate center, who

said they put in a request to Comcast for that information. They advised me to contact Comcast directly in a few days and inquire about the request, which I did.

The very short version is that every time I called in, they told me that they were opening a ticket to look into it. Once a man even told me that he

confirmed the information was sent over and I should be expecting the card. After 6 weeks with no update and no card, I concluded that he was lying. On my 7th call to Comcast, I finally reached someone who promised to help me. She looked into my account and told me that they needed to do a verbal verification (not part of the terms). I guess she felt bad about the number of times I had to call to find out that information, and told me she would personally see to it that the case would be escalated and taken care of, and that I would hear from her in 7 days or less. After 7 days passed with no word, I also concluded that she had lied to me.

I sent multiple emails to [email protected], and finally received a call from a man who seemed to be able to help. He told me that in order to get the card, I would need to do a verbal verification in order to "sign" the contract I have with them. I did this. He called me back shortly

afterward and told me that he saw that it was complete, and he would be processing the order for the card immediately.

That brings us to today (July 9th, 2013). I received a letter in the mail from Comcast, claiming that the package I signed up for was not eligible for the gift card. They lied to me from the beginning, then tricked me into doing that verbal verification which apparently locked in my contract without them having to hold up their part of the bargain.
