Marc bought some used phones from us on Ebay and then once he had our contact information he contacted us through an email to buy additional phones. The phones on Ebay were advertised as used, working, no returns. We sent Marc a list of other phones and he agreed to buy 10 in good used condition, working also with no returns as we pay for all shipping charges (so he also got free shipping) which a very expensive. We thoroughly clean, sanitize and test each phone right before it is bubble wrapped and packed. We also gave Marc additional working phones at no charge since he bought $420 on Ebay and $430 on Paypal. Apparently Marc knows how to work the system with both Ebay and Paypal.
The day he received the phones he emailed us that "from what my techs have told me is you sent me some pretty beat up phones." First of all, the phones on Ebay were clearly marked used with some blemishes - NONE of them were "pretty beat up". The other phones were all in very good condition. He said he'd send me pictures with the MAC addresses (each phone has their own MAC address which we keep records of) but never did. Instead he went directly to Ebay and Paypal and filed claims. Marc lied about the condition of the phones to get a return approved by using the buyer's guarantee on both Ebay and Paypal. The only way you can return an item on Ebay or Paypal that has a no returns policy is if it is "not as described" when it arrives. Our phones were exactly in the condition as described, used, with no returns. Marc said he couldn't "refurbish" them which is a complete lie.
We received all the phones back today and Marc scammed us by sending back other phones - not the ones we sold him. He kept the nice good phones we sold him and sent us back older phones (the older phones have a line above the numbers unlike the newer phones that do not have a line). They are completely unsaleable, very old, beat up, and because we used to own a ShoreTel dealership we knew immediately that they weren't ours as we bought them new for a client and then bought them back to resell them. We looked up our MAC addresses and NONE of them matched. These phones had scratches and dents, were absolutely filthy (remember we clean and sanitize ALL our phones prior to shipping).
Marc got his refunds from both Ebay and Paypal a total of $850 and we are out a lot more than that. Shipping cost almost $100 plus he's trying to get shipping covered by us, Ebay and Paypal fees cost just under $100 as well - so over $1000.

After Appealing Paypal's decision and sending countless emails, pictures, MAC addresses and original P.O.#s for the 10 black phones that were purchased by Marc and then swapped out for 10 older model phones in horrible condition, Paypal has reversed their decision (that was originally in favor of the buyer even though he never sent one picture to us) and we have been refunded $430.
We have since sold the (non-refundable) silver phones that were originally bought by Marc (as he complained he couldn't re-sell them and we were forced to do a return through Ebay). While we've lost a lot of time, and this whole experience was extremely stressful, now we are only out shipping costs, Paypal and Ebay fees.
