COMPAQ - COMPUTER GALLERY PC FACTORY DEFECT, REFUSED TO FIX, SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO REFUSED TO FIX A HEAT PROBLEM ON A LAPTOP COMPAQ PRESARIO MODEL 1247 rip off SAN JUAN
Computer Gallery is the main distributor/dealer/service shop for compaq computers in San JUan.
A couple of years ago I purchased a laptop top model 1247. Within weeks the unit had to be taken to the shop for service.
Unspectdly the pc would reset loosing all your work. The problem persisted and had to be taken to shop about three times.
A company technician suggested (confidentially) that i demanded a new unit, which company efused.
The service supervisor named Rosario said the problem was a virus, nothing they could do about it. The pc came with Mcfee antivirus so...
After much frustration and loosing a lot of data (money) while trading online etc., I decided to stop using the pc and purchased another one.
Rencently another technician told me about the heat Compaq factory problem. so i decide to put a cold pad at the botton of the pc. The problem went away until the pad got warm.
Then I placed an small table fan right next to the pc. No MORE PROBLEMS.

Prior to that The same company (desk top COMPAQ PC now) tried to fool me into buying a new hard drive saying it was damaged when it was not true. they had it setup as secondary hard drive instead of primary, pc would not boot. So much for their credibility.
