Compaq/Hp may have a good product right up until you have a probelm. This is where the fun begins.

I'd purchased a notebook back in 12/02.In 5/03 a problem with the screen came up. It looked as if there was a snow covered mountain on display. Upon contacting HP they sent a return box so I could send the unit in for service.This was on 5/12/03.

When they recieved the unit they told me the screen was cracked and that was not covered under the warranty.They actually wanted more for the repair than the unit cost. After several conversations I was able to get the notebook into arbitration and assigned a case mamager.

Another couple weeks passed with no information. This case manager pretty much said he was god and had no one to answer to.That no one at the corporate hq would care if I complained.

Today being 7/3/03,I can pretty much state the case worker is correct. Although I get plenty of "I'm sorry",there seems to be no one to hold the customer service folks accountable. When asked for a superior I'm told there is no one to speak to.

Needless to say this will be the LAST HP product I purchase.
