Company repaired one and upgrade one of my computers, 2 in all he worked on. The one he repaired still isn't working right and the second one he was to upgrade and it was a desktop now it is a tower in a new case and it was not returned with all the parts in it as was take to him with.

Computer had ethernet card in it when taken to him, was on the net prior to him having worked on it and when I got it back no ethernet card was in computer.

Called him about it says was never one in it so he said to bring it back and he would put one in and then when I did he charged me for the part he took out in the first place.

All together it cost me 320.00 for a computer that still doesn't work and for a computer I had to pay for a part that was taken out by the owner, who claimed it never was in there when he got it, but was cause I was on the internet with this computer cause the other one did not work like it should have. We used this one for a back up.

He didn't fix the computer and he stole my ethernet card and made me pay him to replace it what a ripoff company.

Plus he is zoned in a residential area and not a commerical area should not even have a business there in his garage not zoned for it.

When you chose to make up fake illnesses and file a fraudulent claim with the Veteran's Administration, you not only broke the Law, you have dishonored the Veteran. I am seeing my friends at Fort Hood come home with real problems from this conflict in IRAQ. You are steeling money from them and dishonoring them. Glenda Chappell was doing the same thing. Jim Worrell - Doris Worrell - Glenda Chappell; I stand firmly on my beliefs that faking illnesses and ripping off the VA in Temple Texas is evil. All three of the above mentioned people stood in this shop and said they were scamming the VA. I served in the US Army from 1981-1989 and was honorably discharged. Many of my Customers and my friends are in IRAQ right now. Some have returned in body bags, some have returned with physical and mental problems. I take great offense to anyone that would abuse the VA and dishonor our fighting Men and Women. When I voiced my opinion about this matter to Glenda and Jim and Doris, a complaint was filed at this site, and I was forced to defend against it. I make no apologies for my feelings on this matter. Dear last responder, I am in complete agreement with your technical assessments of the original complaint. When Mrs. Chappell intitiated the complaint, she never afforded us opportunity to make a correction. She just made a complaint. The fact that she chose to use words like "Theft of Computer Parts" was what brought on such nasty responses. We still remain committed to 100% consumer satisfaction. It is possible, when managed properly. It requires allot of effort and checks and balances. It takes about 1000 ataboys to make up for one woops! Since December of 1988, We have been proudly serving Central Texas! PS: A NIC card costs under $10.00 (((( Is this worth debate ))))

Firstly, I would like to say that I have worked for the big boys, and for the small start-up 'home run' businesses in the computer industry over the years. My first thoghts on reading the replies of the company are that they have taken the issue out of context. Regardless of their thoughts on the legality of the ladies claim to support, they had no right and have in fact soiled her reputation in public, which she could address via the courts if she so chooses to do so. If she is fraudulent, then fine, but don't say things if you cannot prove them, particularly in public. Ok, if the lady has had issues with the company address them, but not here. If she did have a network card installed there would be evidence to support her (TCP/IP settings, etc for the old card in the registry) so she could get a report from an independant technician to verify these claims. If there was no network card, then there would be no evidence. Unfortunately, if the computer was formatted (although there was no mention of such, just a repair) there would be no evidence. It would take her a few dollars, that maybe she doesn't have, but that would prove in a screenshot if the registry holds information on another card. She clearly has some knowledge because she uses the teminology NIC, which isn't that widely known outside of the industry or people who speak 'technick'. Personally, if I had taken the computer there and received such verbal abuse, in public no less, I would be suing, but I would also give them the opportunity to apologise in public for their abuse and retract the statement. I would certainly not do business with a company if I found out about this however. The problem with 100% satisfaction is that you can never satify everyone, guaranteed. And, as consumer awareness has become bigger and bigger more people might just find this page and see the defamation of character posted here and choose wisely or not, not to do business. I disagree that any publicity is good publicity - one wrong word can cause a BIG difference in cashflow. Maybe its a good thing people only read the first few webpages, so they might not get here, but perhaps one day, your site will be second place in the list and this page might be ranked first. If you have concerns the lady is fraudulent, take them up with the local government offices, but be aware that you are likely to need more proof than heresay, even if it did come from her own mouth (unless you recorded it). Just remember not to do it in public.

I was sorry to hear that this lady, Glenda, felt that she had not received superior service. It has been my experience that Shawn, owner of Computer Nerds, will go to any lengths to correct a problem and make his customers happy. Of course, the customer will need to be up-front with him and let him know what the problem is...that is understandable!
I have done business with Computer Nerds since early in 2001......and have been extremely happy with the service and repair I have received. Shawn always takes time to explain anything to me I do not understand, and offers ways for me to save money on parts, labor, etc.
I have had many discussions with him and his son, and regarding his character, it would be hard to find a more trustworthy and reliable man. I think his knowledge of computers and also his honesty have kept me going back to him all these years and also referring my friends and co-workers to him. I have also mentioned his name and company to owners of shops when I have had to pick up parts for my computer, only to find that they not only knew him, but knew of his " good workmanship, and service". This is a direct quote from 2 different shop owners. They, of all people would have no reason to lie or cover any bad feelings for him, since they are his competition.
I would encourage you, Glenda, to contact Shawn, and let him try to make you happy. He has repaired and rebuilt my computer several times over the years, and I am grateful to have a technician I can trust to do a good job.

As it appears to me that Lynn has continue computers problems, as "she or he" must use their business on a regular basis. I would not take the word of some who needs their computer repaired often- "I have never had a computer come back not running ten times better". I also see spelling maybe a issue "Lynn" should check on. As you see "Lynn" you are missing the point of the first complaint made.

If you need ongoing, daily or even weekly service, then the "Nerds" are not doing the job right the first time by help you understand and use you computer system. I myself think the "Nerds" are good for business....My business.

The company I work for has a strict policy on fixing the user first then the machine. I am not here to promote our business as your "Nerds" have with the "24/7 at (254) 690-####" blogtitle. I would suggest you take some computer classes soon or receive training from a qualified training center.

As for the politician "City Manager of Nolanville is Christine Taylor", I personally do not believe in any statement made as to the agenda to benefit themselves. Why does not she post the information herself? Maybe because it is a conflict of interest that would surely get her in some hot water. If her comment is personal than she maybe using her status as a leader in that community for personal gain.Which is a no no!!. I can only go by the facts that I personally have and that is to avoid the company in a whole. Again I stated, Please use your boots (to wade their bull****).

P.S. As of the writing we have converted over 27 of their clients to a better computer service company and more are coming!!

Glenda paid us $320.00 exactly as she claimed in this report.

Our policy is 90 days unconditional warranty for any reason. We have provided the same warranty to over 2000 customers since December of 1988. Computer Nerds has received awards for customer Service excellence from the City of Nolanville. when a real technician is needed. I have advised three people to stop by and file a new report(each of them).

After seeing the results from the "nerd" tech and spending 20 minutes fixing it right, I advise the client to file a report with the BBB in Austin Texas.

She is refusing to have anything to do with them or there service.

I have sent my new clients the link to here so they can see what others have and are going to say about these "nerds".

One company and only based on their replys in this forum, that I will not go to, nor send any of my customers is Computer Nerds.

I am using as a base only their commments and the high handed way they've played their own customer.

I work within a 250 mile radius and I see tens of customers a week and I will recommend that they do not utilize Computer Nerds in any way.

Making personal remarks in a business dispute is shallow, immature, and most of all it shows a lack of integrety.

Integrety is the hallmark of any good business.

In spite of this single rip-off report on our Company that was later proven false, In Court of law, I still look at rip-off report as a valuable service for both the consumer and businesses alike.

As a Company owner, when I had learned of a complaint being filed with ripoffreport, I was upset.

Upon looking more closely at the ripoffreport and its objectives as a business, I had determined that rip off report and my business want the same thing. 100% Customer satisfaction.

We have tried the Better Business Bureau in order to accomplish that and I have found that ripoff report does a much better job. In the end all any good business wants is 100% Customer satisfaction.

By working through rip-off report a business and a consumer will resolve their differences and a proper balance will be struck. I want to thank rip off report for providing a service like this.

Like I have read on this Web site quoted by the founder ED Magedson, all Businesses will make mistakes,( including us Nerds). ..But, it's how those businesses take care of those complaints that will separate Good business from bad business.

As a business man and a consumer I could not agree more with ED Magedson's analogy. What reinforced my belief was the info I read at this web address.

She should simply get a job and quit whining.
Glenda is a liar and a hypocondriac. The repairs she complains about are as made up as her illnesses. I hope the local authorities catch this women and put her in jail for lying.
This women is on welfare for fabricated illnesses. This would tend to discredit any credibility she may have.
When this women came in for repairs, I did exactly what she asked me to do. She even praised me and the repair. It was only after she began bragging how she is getting over on the welfare people for her fake injuries and my dad chewed her out was when things went sour.

Now for one I am not on welfare and I am not sick,I have no illnesses talk about libel great case right here.Isn't it a shame what will be said when people are called on for what they try to do to people especially when they have been paid for their services.

The first paragraph was what was in the articles from the company that worked on my computers and what is sad about it all is that none of what was suppose to be said about welfare and fake injuries we never said never heard of it till now .It was me and my husband that took the computers in to him to have fixed and upgraded..and I just got off work when I dropped them them off and gave them to his son Justin,cause shawn was not there.

Well like I have said before say what you want it doesn't change anything what was done was wrong and what is being said is wrong..and two wrongs don't make a right..

Oh by the way when my husband and I went to pick up the computers his son Justin wasn't there so he doesn't know what was said so how can he speak when he has heard nothing.He does tell a good story though I have to admit to bad it wasn't true just goes to show what type of people they really are..so sad

Glenda is a liar and a hypocondriac. The repairs she complains about are as made up as her illnesses. I hope the local authorities catch this women and put her in jail for lying.

When this women came in for repairs, I did exactly what she asked me to do. She even praised me and the repair. It was only after she began bragging how she is getting over on the welfare people for her fake injuries and my dad chewed her out was when things went sour.

Now for one I am not on welfare and I am not sick,I have no illnesses talk about libel great case right here.Isn't it a shame what will be said when people are called on for what they try to do to people especially when they have been paid for their services.

The first paragraph was what was in the articles from the company that worked on my computers and what is sad about it all is that none of what was suppose to be said about welfare and fake injuries we never said never heard of it till now .It was me and my husband that took the computers in to him to have fixed and upgraded..and I just got off work when I dropped them them off and gave them to his son Justin,cause shawn was not there.

Well like I have said before say what you want it doesn't change anything what was done was wrong and what is being said is wrong..and two wrongs don't make a right..

Oh by the way when my husband and I went to pick up the computers his son Justin wasn't there so he doesn't know what was said so how can he speak when he has heard nothing.He does tell a good story though I have to admit to bad it wasn't true just goes to show what type of people they really are..so sad

I retract the welfare comment. Although I strongly disagree with fraud no matter what form it is in. I do question her credibility. If Glenda did indeed have a problem, a phone call would have been sufficient. She never afforded me an opportunity to correct these alleged problems. We have an unconditional 90 day no hassle warranty. Waiting 45 days to complain seems a bit unreasonable.

Shawn, what does being on welfare have to do with computer repairs? If you were to fix her computer and it still isn't working right, there seems to be a problem and it's not caused by welfare.

What did you install when upgrading her computer? I just did a complete rebuild of my computer, everything inside the box (except for the NIC). I still have all receipts handy and would happy to do the math to see what it all cost me and compare it to what you charged this woman, only for her to get back a computer that isn't working right.

The information provided to this site is completely false and possibly libel. I have been in Business since December of 1988 and I have -0- complaints with the BBB etc. The repair was done professionally. Payment is always made after the service is performed. Computer Nerds keeps impeccable records of serial numbers and model numbers of components in each of our customer's computers. This woman is on welfare for fabricated illnesses. This would tend to discredit any credibility she may have. I really wish she would have just called me and told me about the problem before filing a report on the internet, I would redo the job or refund her money. Glenda waited for 45 days after getting the repairs she complains of then without calling or stopping by files this report. That is unfair!
