Let me start out by saying that Conductive Education is a scam and should not be the subject of thought when trying a new method for your child that may have CP or Cerebral Palsy. The method is ineffective and you will not see improvement in your child no matter how much they try to win you over with there videos and slide presentations.
My son has been attending the Conductive Education center in Orlando, Florida for sometime now. And I have finally decided to remove him, but my significant other (not to be specific) is telling me to keep him in.
First, the method of therapy does not require people who are skilled. All of the teens who work there are between the ages of 18-25 roughly, either they are in college or they are not. But they are suppose to be helping children walk, who have Cerebral Palsy? Something is wrong with that. Also, they pay the workers minimum wage for work that is very hard. Ive seen them force these college kids to walk our children in 90 degree weather in gait trainers. That is ridiculous. These teenage workers do not care about our children. No matter how much they smile or talk to us. They do not like our children or the thought of sweating, thats why they chose to work indoors.....The work is cheap labor. The Conductive Education Center of Orlando wouldn't dare ask for skilled assistants. They'd have to pay them more & would therefore lose money, which leads me to my next point....
Second, The cost of this program is so expensive. My little boy has been in this program again for a long period of time & I truely have not seen any results. Its more like an expensive day care...I know someone whose been working there for I think, 4 years, and she's complained to me that the supervisors there are rude and money hungry. They have all of these banguets & fund raisers to raise money but in reality it is not going anywhere but in there pockets. Most of the toys, gait trainers etc, are donated & the rent there isnt much, so that money has no designated location but the pockets of the owners.
In conclusion, this isnt half of what me and my significant other has debated about. All I know is, my son will soon be out of this useless & ineffective program. I hope that Ive broadened your minds just a tad bit. Though we'd all like to see our children walk, though we'd like to see them talk, THE CONDUCTIVE EDUCATION CENTER OF ORLANDO, is not the place for them to overcome their obstracles.

We are saddened to read these comments from this family. Unfortunately, we are unable to place the family at this time as the context and information surrounding these comments do not ring true. The information stated does not match any of our enrolled students as the report suggests, therefore it is not true. However on behalf of our families and all others in Conductive Education, we see this as an opportunity to share our truth.
Conductive Education is not a scam. It is changing the lives of children and their families every single day.Our conductors, teachers and assistants work very hard to assure the development and progress of each child enrolled in all of our programs. The founders of CECO have worked tirelessly for the past 13 years to provide CE and help as many children as they possibly can. They give thousands of dollars of their own money to support the school and reach children. It again saddens me that these and other false statements are being spread about our school.
