I made a purchase @ Conn's in February 2016 for a stackable washer & dryer.  In April 2016 I requested to have these 2 items picked up.  I explained our situation to Conn's repeatedly & told them I wanted it done as a Voluntary Reposession.

Since that time, I get anywhere from 8 to 11 calls everyday from collectors. They tell me they don't see the notes about the pick up being done.  The calls start as early as 8:20 a.m. & run until bedtime.  On August 12 2016 I got a call. Told the lady about the pick up. She said no notes about it seen but that she will take care of it.  One, maybe 2 days later the calls start again.

I received a call @ 8:25 a.m. this morning, August 16 2016.  I told this man the same thing about pick up. He had no information on it.  He then proceeded with the typical collection call ; talking over me, demanding money, etc.  I hung up on him.

I called Conn's Corporate Office in Beaumont @ 409-832-1696 within 10 minutes of his call & s/w Nicole ID#33447. Told her about all of the calls & that I've been asking for this pick up to be done since April 2016. She said the request had not been put in yet but that she was doing it herself.

I told her if we could get it out of our home & onto our truck we would take it to the store.  Nicole then advised me that if we did that, it would be considered "abandonment".  I asked her for the phone number to the dept. she was going to contact & her response was..."It doesn't work that way. We have to call them."

I was also told that the merchandise "will be auctioned off & we'll be responsible for the balance."  Will we be @ that auction to witness the amount ? I don't think so.  They don't work that way. The merchandise is in excellent condition. It's been inside of our home, never outside.

I told Nicole that if the calls continue for even one more day, we will seek legal advice & that we will inform of how long we've been trying to get this merchandise picked up.  I also told Nicole that we want paper work reflecting that this is the customer Requesting Voluntary Repossession, the make & model of items, the color ; A Professional Form. I told her no one is just going to show up & drive away with it without Proper paper work.

Considering my husband's profession, once we're made aware of when Conn's will be here to pick up merchandise, we will also have a Police Officer witness the transaction !

i also having problems with Conn's. i was told this when i bought my items from Conn's. if you can not pay or you want to return the items they will be happy to pick them up and your done. i was told this by a manager and sales employee. their will be no final bill or payment due. well i got behind on payments i took a ride to my local Conn's to ask a few questions about returns. 

 

the employee and store manager told me the (SAME) thing  in my above statement.     (HE COMES THE LIES)

 

if you return your merchandise and you have not paid A certin % of the final price you could be responsible for that cost.

if you return your merchandise and its not in new condition you could be charged a final prorated charge for condition.

if you return your merchandise before the contract is up we can take you to court and sue for final payment to satisfiy the the final bill.

 

you told me when i bought this stuff if i can not pay i can return it with no questin asked and the contract will be done.

he says i (NEVER TOLD YOU THIS) i said you did and my WIFE  heard the same thing. you said if you can not pay you can surrurnder the merchandise with no questions asked and the contact is done with no more payemts to be made. he says (NO) you need to read the fine print we have  final payment options to settle the remaing amount owed at discount to void the contract.  

 

i was like (OKAY) you lied to me to my face, first question i asked you  if we can not pay or get behind can we return the merchandise with no questions or other payments due? you said (YES) we have a  voluntary merchandise surrender program if you chose to use that your done haggle free. but now you tell me something different. 

 

(YES MONEY) yea okay they get you with (HIGH) contract fee's and lies. i can not see how they stay in business how they treat the customers.  i got behind on one payment the next day 6 calls from collections and it got worse until i got caught up i was getting about 10 to 12 calls a day from 8:15AM to 8:45Pm. every day...
