Just to let people know, CONNS could not care less about their promises... This will be short and sweet. Went to Conns on a friday. Purchased about $5000. worth of stuff (mostly a big ZTR lawn mower,) They INSISTED that they wanted to deliver it on sunday. I accepted that. Stayed home all day waiting. Talked to CONNS at least twice as the evening drew near. Was told that the delivery people had trouble with an earlier delivery and were at the store RIGHT NOW with my merchandise. Said they would be delivering within the hour.

Three hours later, no delivery and unable to reach the people at CONNS. Very aggravated about them wasting my entire day. Found out on monday (from my salesperson) that the delivery company said they were not coming all the way to my house just to deliver a mower and instead returned to Austin to their headquarters! Salesman told me that the Manager promised to remove the $79.99 delivery charge by crediting my account. I said OK. I have yet to get credited for the delivery charge and have basically been told that the manager/CONNS never offered to refund my delivery charge. I was obviously hallucinating!

About four months later the person across the street from me had the virtually identical scenario played out on them involving a stove, fridge, and AC unit. Salesperson insisted that a sunday delivery was perfect all the way around. They waited ALL DAY on Sunday for the delivery, Store salesperson (a different salesperson BTW,) told them after 3 or 4 phone calls that the truck was in Waco and would be heading to their house next. Never showed up.  The next day they called and were told that the delivery service had decided that it was not worth it to drive all the way to their house for the delivery.

Pretty much identical situations don't you think?

If your contracted delivery people do not want to go to the trouble of delivering on a sunday, then don't INSIST that someone accept the delivery on a sunday!

Do you just get a kick out of wasting people's time or what? Maybe you just like to see people get angry and upset as they slowly realize that they have wasted their entire sunday waiting for a delivery that is not coming!

I realize that CONNS caters to people with crummy credit. I realize that. But that does not mean that the person should be treated as if they are SO unimportant that the CONNS salesperson will intentionally keep them waiting around on their only day off for a delivery that the salesperson probably KNEW was not going to happen.

Anyway, it is not a HUGE deal. I've been badly treated before and probably will be again. I just feel that others should know about this curious little coincidence. They will lie to you even when they don't need to. I would have been fine with a delivery on ANY day of the week. The SALESPERSON insisted on the Sunday delivery in BOTH cases.

Very Curious.
