I bought my mobile home in 1997 shortly after buying it i was laid off from my job that i had worked at for 20 years . Of course i got a little behind but i did the best i could . The people at conseco weere not understanding at all the would harass me every day .

They would tell me i would have to let some of my other bill go because they wanted their money now. Ihave even had the sheriff come to my house twice giving me a 10 day notice to get out. at he present time i am able to make my payment on time, but getting no where.

I financed 31.409 dollars. I have been paying on my mobile home for 6 years 280.21 a month i called several weeks ago to find out what my payoff was and they said it was 33.786 dollars about 2&1/2 thousand dollars more than i borrowed at this rate i will never have my home payed .

I know for a fact that in Curwensville Pa, The police does not always check their fact out before they take action! I know that law has to give a person 30 days before eviction, and the person being evicted can go to a justice of peace or court to counter plead their case. Get caller ID or a answer machine and screen your calls. If I could, I would refinance my trailer but like many others with no jobs or disabilities, with little or no income coming in, no one will refinance, because of bad credit. Hang In There LINDA!! A conseco victim too and X- Curwensville citizen

i called conseco the day my payment was due to tell them i would be a week late ask if they had a grace period they said no we charge 8.00 a day for every day you are late.they also said it takes us 10 days from the time you mail your payment until we get it. so you could mail your payment 5 days early and they could hold it for 5 days and your are charged a late fee that is why we are never going to get our homes payed for that is why you financed 30.000thousand now you owe 37.000thousand do all you peole have your contract that yoou signed i found mine today and it said i agreed to pay a charge of $5.00 if i was more than 15 days so if you pay them 15 days late there shoud be no charge i think something smells wrong in denmark here how about you

..Mortgage Companies suck ..I had a similar problem, but the rep handled it better, Here's what I did

I had a similar problem, but the rep handled it better. I was late on payments myself, and yes, they called me. The person I talked to had an Indian accent which made it a little difficult to communicate for me. He too was trying to figure out how to get the money out of me. However, in my case, I don't think he was rude. They are off my nuts for the next few months till May. Here's what I did: If you have been making regular payments with additional principal, you can get that additional principal from 2000-2002, applied to make your current payments. (I've been unemployed for two months living off of credit cards, so I know how the system works pretty well.) Credit companies are eager to work with you if it means a balance transfer. The trick is to sound firm and confident with them on the phone, you are doing them a favor by using them. If you transfer to another company, they make no money. If they were rude, it's probably the person, which really sucks. But the company as a whole seems to want to work with you. You should try calling the 1-800 customer service number before you go delinquent. Another thing, they don't report your delinquency to the Credit Bureau for at least 5 days after your being late for 30 days. So don't panic. Just call them if you're late. CALL THEM. If they call you, it will be collections. Customer Service there has been nothing but helpfull to me, and I'm sure they will extend you the same courtesy, especially if you were laid off. I know that you can get payments deferred, it's in their policy. Just try to hang in there. Things can and will get better. Good Luck.
