Ordered 2 different lists from ConsumerBase. Had a completely miserable experience with the company  with both list orders.  

First list was a list of consumers.  We bought email 45,000 names and email addresses and sent out a survey to the list to test a new idea.  We got 1 response, and that was from someone that did not conform to the list specifications.  We went round and round with ConsumerBase to try to understand why our response was so poor.  We got very bad and conflicting advice after repeated call attempts and email attempts to try to get someone there to help us.  

The second list (both lists were purchased at about the same time) was a list of 10,000 businesses nationwide.  We supplied our list of company size, industry and job title requirements.  Given our poor experience with the above list we wanted to do a pre-test of our survey with only 2000 using a split test to evaluate 2 different subject lines.  We got no responses.  Again after repeated attempts to get some advice, we gave up and simply asked for the balance of 8000 names.  I contacted Larry Organ (their CEO).  He refused to return my calls or those from my assistant.  When we did finally reach him  he assured us that he would look into the matter further and refund us our money.  He promise to get back to me within 48 hours.  Of course, he never did.  I sent him many emails and called him several times after this to try to get resolution.  I even sent him a letter via certified mail which reflected what I had said in a prior email regarding the steps I would take if he didn't respond (filing with Ripoff Report was just one of them).  He has never responded.

It took several months (and several phone calls and email attempts) to get the full list of 10,000 that I had paid for  4 months prior.  When I got the list we discovered that it was wrought with errors (wrong job titles, industries, company size).  I tried to get Eliza Epstein to rectify the matter but she was both unresponsive in incompetent.  I spoke with Mike Hill (their customer support manager) who was nasty, uninformed and told me that I was stuck with what I had bought despite the fact that it did not conform to the specifications.  We requested ONLY job titles that were Marketing related, and we got titles like "Industrial Design Director".  His ridiculous response was that since we asked for "Directors of Marketing" we would get any title with the word  "Director" in it!!  He refused to speak with us further.  So much for customer support.

Sorry I didn't search Ripoff report before purchasing!
