I recently paid off an auto loan I had with CMC. They are indeed a 2nd chance finance company. People who utilize this type of financing option know quite well why they are in the situations they are; myself included. I am unfortunately paying a hefty price for financial irresponsibilies I had when I was younger. They were of my own doing, and like others I must accept responsibility for it.
I do have to disagree with The original poster. The 2.5 year relashionship I had with this company while I had a loan with them was simply a buisness relashionship. They loaned me money to purchase my vehicle, I payed them back. I was well informed of the conditions of the loan before I signed the documentation, and I agreed to them. My loan was due on the 16th of every month. I too was informed UP FRONT that if I was late paying my monthly payment, CMC would begin the reposession process. I agreed to that term. To insure that my payment was recieved on time each month, I paid the day beofre, and ALWAYS paid over the phone. There was a small surcharge to pay by phone, but that extra piece of mind, knowing that my payment was recieved on time was well worth it.
I cannot honestly say that anyone I ever spoke to at CMC was "rude". I would use the term "No nonsence", possibly "buisness-like". They have a job to do, and I had an obligation to fulfill; it's that simple. As I said above. I always paid on time, and not once in the entire time I was under payment obligation did I EVER have a problem with anyone at the company. I spoke to people in their office regularly to keep tabs on the amound of money I owed them, and they were always courteous, and accurate.
As for the original post that continued to state that Mr. Hays was rude, again I have to disagree. I spoke to Mr. Hays MANY times throughout the duration of my loan, and he was ALWAYS courteous, and down right friendly on the phone. He always remembered to wish me a good afternoon, weekend, holiday or whatever the case may have been... and I always did in return.
At the completion of my loan, when I made the final payment on my vehicle, I asked the employee how long it would take for me to recive the vehicle title. The employee quoted me an approximated time frame. Within that timeframe I did indeed recieve the title to my vehicle.
In conclusion, I have to say that the relashionship I shared with CMC over the duration of my loan was strictly buisness in nature. They were honest, I was honest. They made good on their end of the deal, and I made all of my payments on time. There were never problems between us. The age old addage' is true yet again. " A man is only as worthy as his handshake, and a mans handshake is his bond". This company makes a huge underwriting risk by financing the type of consumer they do. They are indeed strict on their terms, but can you honestly blame them? If you hold up to your end of the obligations, there shouldn't be any problem.

I have been financed with the company for a year and 3 months. The only time I have had someone rude to me is when i hung up on them 1st. I couldnt make a payment because I lost my job and they told me I had no grace period, But in all reality all financing companies will say that. I can also understand as to why they were upset because it was my first payment I owed. If anything my credit has improved because of them. If you follow the requirements of the company and make your payments on time they will give you no problems. I was late one time and that was because of the hurricane ike and we didnt get paid for being off. I called CMC and they let me make a deferred payment. Which helped a lot. This is why they check and se how long you been employed and how much your income is. This is why they make you sign a contract for you to agree with there terms. They are a second hand mortgage company. So they are helping you out with the bad credit you already have. I always drive up there to make my payment and have always been treated with respect.

As I read the rebuttal, it's interesting that its titled "Consumer Suggestion" yet they seem to know all her information. That's borderline 3rd party disclosure, and could possibly be viewed as a violation of the FDCPA, so whoever typed the rebuttal should be more careful in their responses. Most likely, that was an employee of the company. As far as Consumer Mortgage itself, they are indeed a 2nd chance auto loan provider, which is a good thing for persons with less than perfect credit. They don't have grace periods, per se, but your car isn't repossessed after one day, although Ramona and Dolores love to use that as their excuse. The idea of the company is great, but the employees are indeed unprofessional and rude. They are all in the same room with cheap little office dividers and try to act as if its difficult to reach another associate. I know Mac Haik Ford sometimes go through them, I think its just Ford in general. Honestly, I would say to anyone, if they have another option, go with the other option over Consumer Mortage. If they are your only option, then look for another way to get a car. This company is definitely not worth the trouble.

Consumer Mortgage Company is a 2nd chance auto financer, which means financing for people with bad credit or bad public records. (Bad = not so good). C Dancy states how rude the employees are, especially James Hayes. The employees are NEVER rude until the customer steps out of line. So if C Dancy experienced rude treatment, she should question how she behaves when communicating with the company. Also, the repairs that were mentioned...the owner of Consumer Mortage actually paid to have C Dancy's car repaired and asked only that she pay him back in monthly pmts (broken down over 2 years). Ask yourself and all the people you know, "If your car breaks down, will your lienholder pay to repair for you?" She failed to mention that. Also, C Dancy did not mention how many times she has been up for repo, how rude she is when she calls in or that she does not regularly keep insurance on the vehicle. Odd those things were not mentioned.... C Dancy, the best way to solve your problem is: 1. Pay off your car loan 2. Pick up your title 3. Never call Consumer Mortgage Company again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
