I was contacted Twice on 3/18/08 by Ms.Brown and another rep at ext 2889 Ms. Brown left "personal info on my answering machine" and also went on how she "left so many messages" (not needed) or the second call from rep at ext 2889 the second rep didnt give a name Just said "this is cps you "finance company" again (not needed) both messages were recorded.

These companies are, by law, required to follow FDCPA guidelines. Now, having said that, they do not always do so. There are those collectors who will say and do almost anything to get a return call or payment. If you have these phone calls on tape, file a complaint online with the FTC. I had a company call my mom's once and left a meassage on her machine and told her that I was forty days late with my payment and they needed to get a message to me or "else." I filed a complaint, and I have never heard from them again. Now, this was not a vehilce loan that they were after, but the same laws still apply. Go to www.ftc.gov and read over the Fair Debt Collection and Practices Act. It outlines what companies can and cannot do in regard to collection of money. Good luck to you on this! Also, my boyfriend's truck is financed through CPS, so I feel your pain.
