Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I went on the internet to check my credit. I went to Experian.com, from there it jumps around and all the supposedly free credit reports requires a credit card. I started to fill out the information and then stopped.

I did not complete any of the forms and yet I was billed $9.95 from consumerinfo.com. Where did this company come from. I was on Experian? I am willing to eat this $9.95 as a learning experience. These people are advertisin FREE credit reports when they are not. Something needs to be done about this. It was my understanding that Experian and two others are supposed to be free. Am I mistaken? No matter who you go to, they all require a fee. I could not find one that was actually free.

Dear Alexandria, You have been the victim of a scam put out by Experian.com aka consumerinfo.com (owned by Experian) aka annualcreditreport.com aka surfcrawler.com aka freecreditreport.com aka CIC Credit Monitoring. Somehow they were able to "glean" your personal information from the forms, even though you never finished them. Or if you didn't fill anything out, somehow they were able to "glean" information from your browser. (There's an area where you can fill out your name and address on your browser. I use a Mac, so I don't know what menu it's under on a PC.) I was somehow signed up for this "service" when I requested a "free" credit report at annualcreditreport.com. I never went into consumerinfo.com, yet I was somehow signed up for the services. Experian.com is owned by the same crooks who own consumerinfo.com. DON'T LET THESE SCAMMERS KEEP YOUR MONEY! Call up the bankcard services on the back of your credit card statement and dispute the charge--DO IT NOW before you get your next credit statement. These crooks rely on people like yourself that won't bother to dispute the charge. This is how they make their money. I know it's $9.95, but think of the money these scammers are making from folks like yourself who feel the amount is too small to dispute. PLEASE--dispute the charge. You might need to cancel your credit card, because these scammers will continue to charge $9.95 every month to your account. You will need to cancel your "membership" at [email protected], but do not give them your credit card number when you cancel. (Print out a hard copy and send it along with your dispute form to the credit card company.) They know who you are already, so you do not need to give them anything but your full name. Do not bother to call them to cancel because they will give you the run-around. I know, because I tried. Alexandria, it may seem like a hassle, but PLEASE, dispute the $9.95, as it was fraudulently done. Don't be a victim of experian.com and consumerinfo.com.
