In August 2004,I received an e-mail offering a free credit report from consumerinfo.com. I was asked to provide credit card information in order to receive this report, which I did, with the understanding I could simply cancel my subscription within a certain # of days and no charges would be billed to my card.

I did receive a credit report by post and immediately cancelled the service by e-mailing consumerinfo.com requesting a confirmation from them by return e-mail.

I have recently discovered a $9.95 charge to my card on 9-9-04,10-9-04,11-9-04, 12-24-04, and 1-9-05 for a total of $49.75. In addition this charge on several occassions has been partially responsible for putting me overlimit, resulting in a $29.00 fee each time.

I believe this to be outright fraud on consumerinfo.com's part. What part of "free" do they not understand. Sign me up for the class-action suit.
