Novi,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Mon, June 16, 2008
As both an ex-employee and a current member of Cornerstone Community Financial, I can confirm that this credit union does NOT charge for changing an address. The only time they charge the $5 fee is when the member doesn't file an official address change with the credit union and mail gets returned from the post office because they can't forward it any more. I worked as an address change clerk at a bank several years ago, and believe me, it can involve a lot of time and effort to track down new addresses. I just wanted to set the record straight because CCF is a great credit union to be a member of, and I hate to see them unjustly accused of something. I invite the original poster to correct me if this isn't what happened to her.

Could it be that you got the $5 charge because you moved and did not tell them, and that they then got returned mail from the post office? If this is the case, you got off cheap because I can assure you it cost them more than that in labor and postage to flag the account, contact you, and get things updated. It is always the depositor's responsibility to update their financial institution with a change of address.
