Cornette Property Management LIERS, CHEATERS-they try to change lease terms, make verbal promise then renigs!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! Orangevale california
I, and a friend, signed a lease with this company. I recently lost my job so I contacted the company (with lease in hand) and asked how to remove my name and keep the other tenant.
I was told to submit a written request and they would remove me. I made sure to ask if the other tenant would be affected-they said absolutly not!! I then referenced the lease where they noted the same information (about submitting a written notice). I even was asked by Cornette Property if I wanted my deposit and to include that in the statement so they could refer to the document (which they said was legal) when the other tenant moves out.
I mailed the written notice certified receipt then received a phone call saying they will not accept it!! I was told that I cant submit a notice till the lease is up! IT DOES NOT SAY THAT IN THE LEASE!!! It specifically states that at any time to avoid problems to submit the written notice and I would be removed with no legal or further action.
The representative was EXTREMELY RUDE, said that the lease IMPLIED these things and they are trying to cheat and lie!!
I will not let them get away with this and if you are smart you WILL NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CHEATS!!! they will cheat you too!! THEY ARE LIARS AND I WILL SPREAD THE WORD TILL I HAVE NO MORE BREATH!!!!

To the person who very ignorantly replied to this report, You 100% mis-read!! I was trying to remove my name from a lease, NOT BREAK IT! And if you had read further, you would know they agreed and gave me step by step instructions on how to be removed!! Before you give your idiotic opinions again, I would recommend you read more carefully before sharing your ingnorance! To update: I spoke with a lawyer and was told that since the lease supports the way I tried to be removed that legally, I am off the lease! Wonderful news! And I have the language of the lease and the phone conversation to back me up legally! So they cannot cheat me!! Once again, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

I read your comment and do not understand why you think they would just let you out of your lease. A Lease means that you agree to stay at the property and be responsible for the rent until the end of the lease terms. I doubt any management company would just allow people to get out of their lease with no restrictions, otherwise they would just rent to people on a month to month instead of even offering a lease. I would suggest you read the lease a little more closely and I am sure there is something in there about your responsibilities until the end of the lease term.
