Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

More and more defective products from Costco. Costco is becoming more of a liquidator/consolidator type business. They buy containers full of products that are "special"...Special in the sense that there is zero quality control. YOU are the quality control. They figure you won't be upset because of their return policy. However, many of you will not return the product within the new 90-day limit(yes! 90 days is a relatively new policy). Bottom line...The percentage of defective products now being sold by Costco has to be recognized for what it is...A shameful scam. Screw the membership and make a killing! Costco is not what it used to be.

Cameras, camcorders, flat panel displays, deep cycle batteries...

Cameras, camcorders, flat panel displays, deep cycle batteries... A consolidator/liquidator consolidates and liquidates items that will be returned by certain percentage of retail customers. The product is not completely useless. The defects will be annoying to some and intolerable to others. Like I said it's a numbers game. My most recent experience with Costco is the purchase of a camcorder. Video quality in low-light situations is abysmal. At the same time, you can barely see the viewfinder in adequate light situations. These seem to be known defects. The manufacturer is now in the process of liquidating this line of cameras with huge discounts that go far beyond anything Costco would ever offer. Another example would be the six volt deep cycle battery I bought from Costco. The battery is defective. Gets very hot when trying to charge. Major hassle to return this kind of item. Overtime these kinds of experiences can be discouraging. I've been a Costco member for more than a decade. I have some perspective. I'm sure I've bought more than $50,000 worth of merchandise by now. Another example...Google "Costco clothing quality"...A world of disappointment on this one. I can point to one item that hasn't slipped since day one! White cotton t-shirts in the six pack. Cheers!

I shop at Costco quite frequently and can't recall the last time I had a quality issue.  Can you can give us some examples.

The only items that have a 90 day restriction is Electronic items, but this policy seems to have been in place for at least several years.  But even if this policy is new, it still beats just about ever other "Big Box" retailers policy for electronic items that rarely exceed 14 days.
