Costumes For Less attempted ripoff bait and switch pricing Paramount California
On 9/27/06 I was in the middle of an order for Halloween costumes. I had selected three items and they were in my shopping cart. In the matter of time it took me to retrieve my wallet and begin to pay for the order two costumes went from $13.28 in my cart to $33.19 each. An assesory item went from $3.90 to over $9.00.
I immediately contacted the company via phone and left a message and by e-mail. My complaint was responded to with the explaination that it was a computer error. They had apparently corrected this said error in the MIDDLE of my order. The person I spoke to was "difficult to understand" and very arrogant. He acted as if I was attmepting to rip them off! I was simply internet shopping, found what I thought was a good deal and decided to buy. Had I not noticed the insane price increase, I would have paid more than double what I had intended to.
The C/S person with which I spoke to was named "Mitch". He had the audacity to compare their error to me "not winning the lottery". These people obveously have no regard for good, fair and honest business practice. They admitted that they were aware of the problem, but were completely unwilling to make it right with me, "the customer".
Moral of the story. Watch those prices in your online shopping carts. They can change at any time!!
