Countrywide Bank Home Retention Department - Nicole Roger wants you to be delinquent in payments BEFORE they will look at freeze in payments Simi Valley California
Due to an employment relocation, our home in Pennsylvania has been on the market since October 2008. We have lowered the price several times and currently are in short sale status to stimulate a sale. We are current on the mortgage but as of April 1, 2009 we will be unable to pay our rent in South Caroline and our mortgage in Pennsylvania. We have contacted the Financial Hardship Assistance Program that Countrywide has last week and was informed we may be able to freeze our mortgage payment in Pennsylvania for several months. Our instructions where to get paystubs, tax returns, finanical statements, bank statement and a letter explaining our hardship together and contact them. We did in fact do everything that was asked. My husband called yesterday with a stack of papers ready to tackle the issue at hand. He was then told because we are not behind on our payments, they cannot help us! What...you want us to get behind on our payments?!! Nicole Roger was told straight up, we made our last payment, we do have the funds to pay both a mortgage in a home we are not living in and a home we are renting to live with our family! Our numbers on paper show we are in the negative by few couple of thousand of dollars every month. Nicole Roger was told flat out "we are unable to make any more payments, we need to get the hardship now, not after we start digging our grave! No, we cannot help you at this time was the answer, nothing more! Basically, we understand that Countrywide wants us to get behind on payments, ruin our credit rather than possibly get the house sold so it does not go under foreclosure!
If anyone has suggestions....we are wide open for them!
